Your name is Seargant Major John Egbert, and today is not the happiest day of your life.
The GLOBAL DEFENSE STATION you were manning has been destroyed by an unidentified ICBM. When the missile was detected, your first thought was that the Warsaw Pact was attacking. However, it’s flight vector meant that it could not have come from any position on Earth. You thought it must be a stray dummy missile from the defense satellite network.
Now, you know the much, much darker truth.
Earth is being invaded by the very same race it allied with in the past.
Earth, the US, at least, has always been wary of the trolls. First contact was made fifteen years ago, 2012, your 13th birthday. Since then you have joined the US military, and most of North America and Western Europe have allied to form FIrst Contact Treaty Organization, or FICTO. Since then, FICTO has founded over twenty GLOBAL DEFENSE STATIONS around the world.
That was five years ago.
Two years ago, The United Research Organization, or TURO, detected several ships of unknown make approaching Earth by way of the Titan Relay.
When questioned on the matter, the Alternian government remained silent.
These events led to now, which is several Alternian ships leading a coordinated bombardment on all 20 Global defense stations.
Today is the 13th of April, 2027, and today, the Human-Troll war begins.

Can do kewosabe. You are Dave Strider, a transport pilot for the USAF, operating under the unified leadership of FICTO. It has been one year since the CAVALREAPERS, a military branch under the ALTERNIAN EMPIRE, invaded Earth.
At first, Earth was woefully underprepared for the war. The first act of the Cavalreapers was to lower Earth’s global temperature, plunging us into another ice age. FICTO responded by updating all tech to one, better utilize alternian technology, and two, cope with the much colder temperatures.
Apparently, the Cavalreapers were none too prepared for the amount of fight FICTO gave. At first it was a bloodbath, rustbloods commanding deadly beasts to attack vulnerable instillations around the world (The battle for Munich is one of the bloodiest battles of this first phase of the war, with almost 200 thousand casualties). FICTO was unable to fight back for over two months, as they were in the process of converting technology, and all the supposedly “high-tech” equipment used by most of the world’s military was made useless by the lower temperatures.
You were able to experience that first-hand when you attempted to fly a sortie over a Heavy brigade of Cavalreapers and your jet stalled halfway through. Your entire flight experienced similar issues, and were all killed. Only by using your sick ninja skills were you able to get back to command.
However, once the converted technology was produced and distributed, the tables began to turn. Humans gained control of the powerful VITAL SUITS, essentially large mechs that used thermal energy as power, as well as several aircraft utilizing ANTI-GRAVITY TECHNOLOGY. With these tools, you have pushed the invading Cavalreapers back to their lunar outpost. It’s only a matter of time until you defeat the Alternian fleet and return home victorious, you think.
Oh, how wrong you would be.
