If anything Jack taking Bro's sword is going to be important if Dave ever fights Jack and wonders just what happened to Bro that he'd give up his sword.

Or rather, fight in rage over Jack having his brothers sword. Could be Bro helping his bro mature a bit and grow up. When the game fails to help the kids grow up it's up to the parents to help out.

Because she couldn't go back in time without giving Rose the idea that she liked Horror Terrors. And so Rose enjoyed Horror Terrors and gave Jack tentacles.
