It would eb in your best interest to keep tabs on precisely what is being blinged at all times, or your manufacturing speed will reflect all the power and efficiency of Windows '95.

I think that is a really bad idea.
Goblin sieges a lot of kobold corpses on you fortresses floor...

I've actually been keeping most of the kobold copper daggers, then decorating them as trophies.

Don't worry, there's no way any thieves will get in. There is a literal wall of champions standing across the only entrance to the fortress. ;D

By the time it's done the armor is going to be so weighted down with spikes of turtle shell and hanging rings of pig iron that the dwarfs aren't going to be able to move.

Doesn't look like. Basic weight for a steel plate mail: 1177. With hanging rings of turtle shell: 1177

If you have enough gems encrusting your armour, you'll blind your enemies with the reflections in the jewels. Then there's a definite advantage to it.

If you have gem encrusted armour they'll probably assume you're a statue and ignore the armoured champion until he starts hacking them apart.
