This is how like half of my dreams go:

Something really shitty happens and my life is ruined forever. Then I notice a small error in the dream that doesn't make sense. (What is he doing here? Didn't he move?) Once I notice it, I decide it is a dream and it is not real. I am pretty relieved at this point. Then my mind seems to go "oh wow you are right don't worry I will wake you up bro."

And this is how the other half go:

I realize I am dreaming, get overly excited and attempt to do things that are too complicated, then I wake up, with my eyes still closed, and get really frustrated.

Wow, it didn't take me long to make this topic. Headlong charges into ideas, without thinking about it, that's me!

Anyway, I have to ask. Does anyone here dream lucidly? How was it? And did you train yourself to dream lucidly? I have never had a lucid dream and I feel like it's an opportunity that I'm missing out on. I would really love to know how to dream lucidly.

Not really, but again...I very rarely dream, and when I do, I typically forget it within a few moments. Weird stuff, but maybe it's a good thing?..at least I don't have nightmares at all... ;D

Okay, I just remembered one time which might have been a lucid dream. Everything was draw from crayon and kept falling apart. I thought to myself "this has to be a dream" and then I made a stick figure man. And woke up. Missed opportunity, sigh.

I like to spawn really cool sports cars that fly and shoot down other d0g pilots in the race to the moon.  I never make it to the end.   :-[

Maybe you just bit your arm in real life. I ate my pillow once.

It didn't taste very nice.
no, the pain was coming from two needle points just under the bottom of my palm and it shot all the way down my arm, and there were no visible marks on my wrist

You probably were just sleeping on it oddly and the pain was seeping through to the dream, that's all.

I've never been able to truly have a lucid dream. The strangest sleep/dream related thing that has happened to me is that once after catching an afternoon nap I didn't wake up normally. My eyes were open and I was aware of the room around me but I couldn't move, then I started to have visual hallucinations. It was a rather unpleasant experience.

W00t!  I has a lucid dream again last night.  I was out shopping at a mall when I crazy guy with a car started chasing me, needless to say I was untouchable with my matrix moves.  I ran out into the street and hurried to the tallest building in the city.  The chaser had to ditch his car when we got to the building.  I jumped up the stairs with him following I kicked down the roof door and saw I was at a dead end so I looked over the cliff and jumped.  That felt awesome with the whole city in view and the wind and the OTHER GUY JUMPED AFTER ME so we both started falling for about a minute and I saved him.  I grabbed him and stopped our decend with my super matrix powers.  He was arrested and I saved the day again.  It gets blurry after that.

Actually, I don't think I was lucid when it happened.  I thought I was Neo or something like that.

I don't remember some parts currently, but you can put two and two together.  Like I don't remember how I got from the mall to the tall building, but I remember being at both.

Sounds more like you decided you needed to jump off a tall building and suddenly found yourself able to do so. ;D
