The Titan sent the followers in and reinforced the walls, adding another layer, narrowing the entrance and digging a moat. He added a raise able gate.


The followers entered, there were eight unskilled peasants, a hunter with a crossbow and bolts and a smith. You got one of them to fashion pants and a slouch hat for you, you were ready. You set out in your party again, until you came to thick red mist, almost like a wall. As you and your people got close to it a voice range clear through the air, yet it was only heard within your own mind.

So our new followers are more dwarfs? Order them while your gone to create wooden crossbows with plenty of ammunition, and begin to train with them. That army will take some time to get here.

You could probably tie the staff to your back when you're not wielding it.

Also, the whole "hat, pants, staff" thing...I don't know why, but I'm starting to think of Australia.  If you can get Australian powers, the army wouldn't stand a chance.
Don't forget to tie corks to hang from your hat.

From a traditional siege engineering standpoint, if not a DF standpoint, you might want to place a earthen berm before your walls.
Might want to set up a second z-level, with fortifications to shoot from.
