Now that coins have been introduced, I think we could attempt some financial speculation. Right now nobody will have much coins, as everyone is saving iron for own use. This means that coins will be in short supply. However, a lot of people will want to have coins once the market gets started, because they make thing so much easier. I say we mint some coins and charge arm and leg for them in valuable goods. Seeing the high value of money, people will start minting their own and inflation will occur. So, we'll be able to sell the goods we bought with some profit, and effectively increase our iron stocks.

It's good enough to save from foxes. 6/3 is soft/hard protection, right?

This saddens me.  But then again, I'll eventually have steel become ready more often without a huge wait (assuming I keep my attention on this game...   though I shouldn't ignore the game I was playing before).

6/3 means it protects from 6 damage without taking damage, and then it protects from 3 more damage, but it takes damage if it protects against that.

Not quite, it means it can take 6 without any damage and can take 3 more which will subtract from the armour before doing you the rest of the damage I believe.

So with 6/3 you can take 6 damage without any harm to you or your armour, 9 damage will only damage your armour by 3 with non to your Hearthling and 10+ will do 3 damage to your armour and the rest to your Hearthling.

There is more too it, I suggest you read the following post:

Is it just me or did the server crash again?

What the flagpole is wrong with the server today? That's the fourth crash, if I recall correctly. Something's wrong. I think Shockedfrog figured out how L4 managed to crash the server back then.

Actually, if you put it in the chest and logged out, chances are it's still there. But happily, I didn't lose anything in the last crash, so maybe we'll get the same reset again.

edit: yep, nothing lost. At least it's up quickly.

Methinks they've got some power problems. Something keeps turning off their comp.

No biggie if the pick got lost. I've got three iron bars that I've been safekeeping in my inventory, so we just need to do a bit of manual mining for bar #4.

So is the server back up now?

One leather for each space the hide takes up.  You can only put one hide in a tub to be tanned at a time, so using the bigger ones is better.
