No, 1.8.1. No proper mods will be compatible with the new version yet.

This is what happens with no form of PR. If you ask me Yogscast are just being themselves, they cocked up completely. But for Notch to have tweeted the crap he has is a little silly me thinks.

 They could have told them to be mindful of the children, or even have a PR person tell them that.

 We don't have enough information on the situation to cast judgment one way or the other.

Just seen Modloader has been uploaded for 1.0.0. This is good. Now we just need Forge and everything can be updated.

The link was posted here before... I thought I'd head off the need to report that post before it happened again.  If you feel hurt in any way by Toady and Notch's rules, I don't know what to tell you.

As for the linked version before, if you did report it I never heard anything about it. In any case I wouldn't do it with a release version. Either I'll make the mod pack available in a nice little 'drop in' folder or I'll make it available and not link it here.

Although I fail to see why some of these mods can distribute parts of the .jar file, modified base classes still have minecraft's code in them, no?.

Oh no doubt, but I thought the issue was distribution of minecraft's code.

So it's alright if we split the jar into pieces?

(Yes I'm splitting hairs because this is like saying it's okay to put some sand from one bucket in the other bucket but not if you dump the whole bucket in.)

I think it says that distributing any of the base classes is illegal actually, but Mojang are hardly suing every modder they see

Yeah, hopefully it's something we'll get in the near future. I know they're focusing on making NPCs actually do shit right now.
