Vanigo: I'm too lazy to micromanage my morale bonuses, could you please automatically use my bonuses when I'd get a labor bonus from them?

I think he's talking about luxury resources. And no. I'll use them automatically if you want, but I won't micromanage for you. You could put a watermill on the mushroom hex so you've got 20 luxury every turn, though. And, come to think of it, with no clothing production you can't get up to 8 morale, so there's no way for you to get a labor bonus anyway.

Oh, and Nuke, I had a thought: How'd you like to run the first major colony someone sets up?

Wait, so Vanigo, do you mean you haven't been counting my extra research power and such?

Huh? Of course I have. I'm saying that I won't look at his morale and luxury stocks and decide how much to use for him.

Also, as of right about now I'm off duty; don't expect to hear from me. (I might get a chance to pop my head in, but I've got a fair bit of stuff stored on my computer here that I can't update without. And don't count on seeing me at all, either.)

Oh. Okay, that's what I thought, but since my bonus is totally unknowable, I wanted to be sure....

I mean, sure. I feel glad for maniac that his computer problems have been resolved so quickly. I can remember having no internet for weeks, scrounging all I could from school and my sister's laptop. Shudder.

Oh, I hadn't realized it was quite so easy to get 8 morale. Hey, can money be used as a luxury resource?

I believe that recent history shows that money is actually the opposite of a luxury resource.  Apparently, there is a widespread belief that large amounts of money have allergenic qualities.  So great is the public hysteria about this health concern that a large supply of money will actually make your people less happy and even outright rebellious.  A large enough supply of money will even cause citizens to destroy perfectly useful luxury resources such as tea in what can only be described as crude pseudo-tribal rituals which they believe will magically cause the world to conform to some fantasy notion of the past that never existed.

I like the idea of gold becoming a luxury, but it might end up being easily abusable (by me, probably).

Well, day before I get home, and I have to say: Why are there only three turns up? Get cracking, people!
Oh, and mainiac, you can come back in. Post a turn this turn if you like, or wait until next turn.
(Also: no using money as a luxury. Or not directly, anyway.)

I had a bunch of questions. But I can't remember them . . .

So, is my Alchemist active now, and do I get to name him?

Would it be possible for Small metal weapons to be made?
Something like:

Small Iron Hand Weapons
2 labor .5 iron

And can I use my giant stack of Wooden Spears to form iron polearms?

Actually, he's a sage. Guess I forgot to put that in the turn report. But yes, he's active, and go ahead and name him.

By small weapons, do you mean like for equipping a squad with daggers? I figure small hand weapons come free with main weapons you make, and I doubt you'd want a unit of dedicated knife-fighters.

As for repurposing your spears into polearm shafts, I'm going to say no. Seems like they'd be shorter and lighter than you'd want for that.
