NEW FULL METAL PANIC ANIME ANNOUNCED. ITS ACTUALLY HAPPENING
WHAT WHAT YES

I am always down for more of Sousuke's socially oblivious overreaction.

I love the FMP manga.

A Ghibli made Back to the Future would actually be something I'd be quite interested to watch.

Hey, if Highlander can become an anime then this wouldn't surprise me in the least :D

I'm not really getting it. Something that's already done and dusted in another medium, what's the point of making an anime out of it? That would only make sense if you're doing a sequel or there was some component lacking in the original that you're going to expand on in the anime version. Book-to-anime makes sense, movie-to-anime-movie does not.

Beautiful art and a tried and tested story possibly mixed in with an amazing score?

Still, it has more drawbacks as a concept than plusses. Everyone's seen the movies already so there are no surprises. Also, it's a movie set in America, then you're adapting it with Japanese speakers, and then probably find that it works better when it gets dubbed back into English, except now you have some hammy voice actors doing the parts instead of the original actors.

Also, Ghibli? This is so not a Ghibli type of plot. I'd prefer something like a Mamoru Oshii bleak and dystopian Back To The Future. But it would fit best with a director like Katsuhiro Otomo (Akira, Steam Boy), or Yasuhiro Yoshiura (Eve no Jikan, Patema Inverted).

I'd say the only way an anime could be improved is if I was in it.

But I already seen a show where "I" was in it... and it just feels weird and awkward.

Jojo Part 4 anime confirmed

Awesome! If they intend on doing every volume, it's going to take most of a decade, if not more.

I look forward to the oncoming decade of Jojo.

Hope Tiger and Bunny live action film is good too. If these two films are hits, it might open the floodgates to adapt more seinen anime. Basically we've never seen what happens when mature audience aimed cyberpunk or seinen anime get adapted to Hollywood, so we can hope these have a totally different dynamic to the adaptations of kids / shonen anime from the past.
