I actually watched episode 6 and 7 of Panty & Stocking last night because they were there and I really need to finish this silly Gainax ser---holy fuuuuck

That was amazing.  Everybody watch episode 6 and 7 while totally half asleep so you can keep going "what the fuck what the fuck hey this music is really good what the fuck"

I don't feel like I understand the world any better but that was like...highly pressurized entertainment into liquid drug form.


I also finished the Grisaia demo...bleh.  It's an okay time waster.  I'll probably play the full version when it's out, out of curiosity.  Don't even have any images worth showing.

I started another English demo but I'm not saying what, simply put the first day was quite awesome so I have...higher expectations than a series that puts character's blood type and three sizes in the OP.

Started reading the manga version of Gate - Thus the JSDF Fought There. It basically begins when a portal to a parallel world, known as the "Gate", suddenly appeared in Ginza, Tokyo. Monsters and troops (Dragons, Orcs, etc) poured out of the portal, turning the shopping district into a bloody inferno.
The Japan Ground-Self Defence Force immediately took action and pushed the fantasy creatures back to the "Gate"...bullets, cannon fire & missiles made them pay dearly for the surprise invasion quite satisfyingly. Now it's this world's turn to go to the "Special Region" at the other side.

I've checked the manga - great stuff, but only 2 volumes translated. Is there any translation of original novel available?

Some translations have begun but they are very shorthanded...so not so much a well.

I think maybe it's also a Japanese thing...like in manga/anime the dialogues between 2 people always have those "Ah", "Huh", "Mm", "Ooh", etc. monosyllabic expressions/reactions or something. I think I remember reading that it's like a polite & simple reaction that translates too "Yes, I'm still listening", "Pay attention" or something but this time it's like for the reader/watcher/gamer.

...Or that explanation so off course I'm just ranting & randomly throwing ideas in the air.

It also has the most alternate titles I ever seen.

Oh Total Eclipse, I can't be happy with you.  I watched the first two episodes and as a disgruntled VN reader I don't think I will ever adjust to anime pacing.  Anyway...

Spoiler: MLA and MLA:TE (click to show/hide)

1.  The usual "EVERYTHING IS HAPPENING TOO FAST"
2.  I hate when series kill characters before I can even remember their names.
3.  MORE GIRLS THAN THE ORIGINAL MUV-LUV
4.  The animation is off model almost constantly plus CGI TSFs and BETA.  I miss my pseudo sprite animation.
5.  The opening:
a) It's wuba wuba as fuck.
b) It's...just scenes from episode 1.  I'm guessing that episode 3 onward will have an actual OP right?

It's just really laughable the BETA end up feeling like total goofballs and not the ominous threat in MLU/MLA.  I would play the VN for comparison but it's not in Engliiish and it doesn't have the greatest ratings on VNDB either though.

I will say the end of episode 2 with the tank class was pretty nice albeit the heavy censoring and Yui and dead person screaming way too corny-ly.  "UWAAAAAAAAAAAAH om nom nom"  The earlier scene with the soldier class was laughably bad.  Laughably...bad.

Also when the girl who went "I SURVIVED 8 MINUTES"--cut in half by a destroyer class.  Yare yare

The first two episodes are in 1998 mainly I think and take place three years before MLA.  And since I read MLA I knew their defense against the BETA on Japan wasn't going to work (they didn't really show America fleeing, just...helping kind of).  Of course then they come back with G-Bombs with the Americans but that's another story.  Episode 2 ends with it jumping to 2001 but it's probably the beginning or middle of the year otherwise having MLA:TE and MLA going on at the same time seems...strange.  I would love to see MLA animated so I could secretly like it mock it.  Or better yet have an MLA adaption by Ufotable for 50 episode about a Takeru bad ending and then second impact happens and the Angels and BETA team up while NERV and the UN work together and every episode is two hours long with movie budget and international political intrigue sliders sliders sliders  ____ 

And now I can't close MLA because the music is so good.  N-no I don't like MLA, shut u-up

Usually I only watch bad animes because they either
A) Have an aspect I like
B) Because I thought they were good and found out they were bad (DANG IT PEACH GIRL!)
C) Because it seems like it could be hillariously bad.

and then I get invested (and unfortunately bad animes tend to have little-no pay off... DANG IT LIVE-ON!)

I don't watch bad bad things on purpose unless I somehow get tricked into becoming invested.
