And when the hell did the Komato assassins get so god damn sexy? I know I didn't think that yesterday.

Seconded, by the way.  ._.

Oh my. And I thought I was the only one thinking that.

Is it just me, or is the music awesome?  The final battle music and the ending music both stand wonderfully on their own.

Very much so yes. The music is incredible, well except for sector 5/X mainly because it sounds too much like a rush song to me. But the Dialog music and the Boss theme are my favorites.

Oh my. And I thought I was the only one thinking that.

If my non-forumite friends are any indication, not by a LONG shot.  And really, the assassins are among the most 'human' people in the game; many of them are certainly sympathetic.  Hey, they even have a video game >.>

Is the Sector 5/X song the same as sec5.mp3? (I think some are numbered weird)  I kind of liked that one, just for it being a very upbeat song.  The dialogue (calm.mp3, "All That Can Wait") does make the game very -touching-.

The ending song is worth looking up the lyrics for; they fit quite well for a story of races in their last days:

http://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.nsf/Further-lyrics-VNV-Nation/07D5C5BEEAC0B0B948256DDE0010CF15

At the end of days, at the end of time,
when the Sun burns out, will any of this matter?
Who will be there to remember who we were?
Who will be there to know that any of this had meaning for us?

And in retrospect I'll say we've done no wrong.
Who are we to judge what's right and what has purpose for us?
With designs upon ourselves to do no wrong,
running wild, unaware of what might come of us.

(also, whenever hearing a song can evoke the scenes in the ending that went along with it, it was really well chosen)

Yeah, that's the main reason I dislike it. Sectors 5 and X honestly call for a much darker background music.

And uhh... I don't exactly remember how calm.mp3 sounded... It was Dark.mp3 I was referring to.

While the Assassins are sorta sympathetic I admit the reason I like them so much is the tight clothes and slenderness. ♥

Also Asha appears to be not wearing a shirt. That's just cute. (Uhh... I better stop rambling on...)

Specifically, I believe that a true pacifist run on Extreme might be impossible without perfect planning.  I might be able to pull it off with better supercharge knowledge and more willingness to make enemies suicide...

Grr, I think I need to try that again.
I just finished the pacifist way on extreme. I don't think there was even one moment when I didn't have at least a few points extra on top of what was necessary to finish any level without killing anybody.

Even on Sector X?  I think I finished the game with 24 points, which is just not enough.  And you need to finish Sector 9 with Komato 10, I think.

I guess I'll be going through and trying it again.  >.>

There's so many other challenges I want to do too though.  Only kill Tasen, see what changes... only kill Komato, likewise...  uh, I guess that's about it.

...I'm now listening to Hero 3d on infinite loop at work.

Hey Joe, if anyone would know, you would.  Is there any decent Tasen or Komato art out there that shows them outside of their nano armor?  The more official the better, but hey, anything works.

Have not seen any sadly... And I looked. All I have gathered is that Tassen skin is purple and Komato skin is Blue. And that could be wrong even.

And they have weird eyes.  What's up with that?  Was that just a particular Komato who was very old, or what?

Komato look more reptilian, or...something.  I'm still not quite sure.  Their legs certainly are different though.

Didn't one of the posters have a Tasen's eyes, too, and they looked about the same?

More games should contain cybernetically altered lizardmen, it's just cool.

Looking through my decompiled copy all I found was a poster of Krotera.

As you can see his eyes are obscured by his helmet.

There was this sexy poster of Asha though.

See how the purple part of his legs is drawn more like fabric and his chest and lower legs are drawn more like flesh? Thus my theory of blue Komato skin.

The ending also backs up blue skin, and similar eyes (if on a similarly old and respected person).

The Komato almost look like they have -beaks- sometimes.  Although the Tasen have something vaguely similar on most of their suits, except that the scouts don't have that--so it's probably part of the helmet for the Tasen...

EDIT:  No, nevermind, the Tasen all do have the same vaguely canine/feline/something 'snout' thing, including the scouts who are just colored funny.  And the Komato are really surprisingly thin; it's not just their assassins, it's most of them under the armor.  Often the heavier armored ones are easier to see that.  Huh!

Well, I think I've found the main data dumps for the game, and I've got two big easter eggs to collect...  One of them needs me to fill up my records screen though.

Yeah, even the mostly robotic Annihilators are pretty slender. It's weird.

Also is it just me or do the Komato soldiers and berzerkers have no footwear? That just seems a bit odd.

Okay, so has everyone on the forums played this already?

Just checking.

To make sure.

PS:  If you want a data dump of pretty much every secret in the game, there's a weird spot in one elevator shaft mid-way through the game (you'll possibly remember it if you've been there...) with a wall you can blast through if you've beaten the game before.  It has fun things.

Oh yeah, and you can enter the Konami code at the title screen.

Wow.  This song...it's like, Asha's anthem or something.

Or at least the Assassins in general.
