Good lord, I agree with Aqizzar here.  This fort is completely whacked.  I knew it would get that way eventually, but not so soon.  Everything is muddled and confused!  Which of course is awesome.

I like the garden by the way.  It's a muddy mess and will serve as an extra treefarm, but it's also neat looking and has a cool natural feel.

Edit:  Haha, the elven diplomat is here to bitch about our nature desecration.  Fun times.

I'm just surprised it all happened in one save.

here are the first few months I've done

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
logbook of Iluogo, legendary miner and ruler of the eternal halls

1st of granite.

today is my first day as ruler of the eternal halls. I have been given the task to clean up some of this mess and create rooms and jobs for everyone. It seems the previous ruler has been to busy with his muddy cave to realize that there are only 80 rooms and more than 120 dwarfs. the dining room is even worse there are 20 chairs! I will make sure every dwarf will have a seat in the new dining room. heck i might even make a waterfall in it!

16th of granite

the elves have come. they don't seem to be happy about the number of trees the last ruler cut down. they seem to think they can threaten me with their wooden weapons! I have send the filthy treehuggers back to were they came form!

8th of slate

all dwarfs have been set to work i have also ordered a new workshop area be build

14th of slate

today new immigrants arrived to the eternal halls i have order more beds to be made.

18th of slate

today some nut job claimed a workshop. I hope he makes something useful

27th of slate

today the count demanded nickelsilver items be made. She doesn't seem to understand that we have no nickelsilver. I will see that the 2 frogman in her room are set lose

29th slate

A disaster. This count is tougher than he looks. He killed 2 frogman with his bare hands! I will have to dispose of him later...

12th of hematite

today the hunter came running in my office. when i asked him what the carp he was doing here. He fell down with a goblin bolt in his back! This can only mean one thing! A siege! I ordered all men to suit up and get ready to fight

17th of hematite

the goblins have retreated. I was afraid that we might not make it for Aqizzar decided that he had to sleep just when the gobs reached the gates.
the rest of his squad went with Aqizzar leaving only brave Morul to defend our fortress luckly Morul is as brave as the whole of Aqizzar's squad combined and stood firm in front of the gates. He smashed 13 goblins to death and injured even more. Evading arrows while he did so! after the goblins had seen the might of our finest warrior they fled probably to think up another plan! I will see a statue is made for morul the hero of the Eternal halls who singlehandedly defeated a siege of more than 30 goblins!

Ha!  The Eternal Halls are full of ninja dwarves!

The freaking nobles are strong enough to wrestle monsters to death, and one man held off a siege?  Awesome.  This is what makes DF fun.

We are fine on the outside, but I bet the insides still a wreck. Can you give us a status report on that, Iluogo?

Watch some super badass goblin come and kill every last dwarf singlehandedly and walk away with both eyes gouged out and a missing arm.

If that does actually happen, I propose we keep the eternal halls going by repopulating the fort playing as the goblin civ that took over!  ;D

I'm now at the end of Autumn and my waterfall is finished ;D
I did end up giving my new dining room a layer of mud and 3 dwarfs were killed by caveins and flooding accidents :-\ but I got it working now ;D. so hopefully when you are in danger of a tantrum spiral the dwarfs will look up to the lovely waterfall and forget how his wife was killed by the hammerer :P. only downside is that my framerate is now down to 20 so I'll probably disengage it until I really need it.

on a side note: the count is now demanding crystal glass items, the jerk. I will prepare an encounter with the goblins we captured last siege

i ordered some armor lying around to be smelted so the dungeon master went out with all his dogs and the worst part is the dogs all got puppy's walking after there momma. i've orderd a ton of butcher shops be built but it's going so slow. its like 5fps right now

5better news is that i'm already in early winter so i think i can sit it through
