Run Comrades:  Geez, it's been forever since I've thought about that movie.

Aqizzar:  How's it going?

Hello

I've been wanting to do a comunity fortress for sometime, as I have never done one before, so is it ok if I ask if I can be next (after everyone else that's signed up)?

I'm an ok DF player, but I do play it ALL the time, it's my favourite game

If you don't want me ruining anything, it's no bother.

Ha!  I'm sure you'll be added gladly.  We'll turn no one away...except for goblins of course.

DF is wonderful...Probably pretty useless saying that here since everyone knows that.  But it's seriously the greatest game in the history of gaming IMHO.

And: We need all the potential chaos we can get, so inexperience is certainly welcome!

Dadamh:  :D  8) I figured since we're making a small trip to the past and all...:P

Sure sure, I'll add you.  It will be a while before you turn though, there's a lot of people in line.

Add me as well. I played DF since the 2D version but never taken part in a CF.
Inform me with a PM when the turn comes around.

Alright, got through the big battle again, just waiting for winter to play out, should be ready in an hour or two.  But I should ask this first, especially if Cave King want's to take a turn again.

Calvin died in the fighting.  Head was chopped off in one swing by the Swordelf.

Should I try again and keep Calvin away from the fight?  Make some special preperation?  Rename another dwarf?

(By the way, sorry for the delays.  Took a nice ten hour sleep today.)

As far as I understand scumming is strongly discouraged if we can help it.

Alright, I went with it.  Figured I've fucked up the space-time continuum enough already anyway.  Sorry Cave King, but Calvin's dead.  If you want to take another turn, go ahead and rename whoever you want as a successor.

State of the Fortress-

We have one competant miner.
Dadam didn't kill any elves, but he killed enough goblins to earn the title "The Holiness of Fording".  Aqizzar got "The Strategic Blade of Manors", and is now the friend of the mayor.
I engraved all the founder's tombs and the graveyard, and they wound up as a panorama of goblins, elves, and dwarves being slain, including a very cool picture of Antlias laughing at an elf he mortally wounded.
The fortress is still not bug free.  I just noticed that some of the muddy felsite tiles in the main hall turned into sand.  Harmless, but interesting.
There's no crazy nethergoblin this time, and playing forward in time, the next season didn't seem to generate another ambush, and abandoning does exactly what it's supposed to.  Remember to keep some guards on hand for when they do show up - the rapid decline in framerate is the signal.

Save is here this time, for whoever is going to take it.

Aqizzar, you sound like you are beating yourself up over this.  It's a bugged alpha copy of a game.  It happens.

Also I think mud turns to dust when it dries.  Never heard of it becoming sand, but hey, maybe we can make glass now?

OK, Cave King, your turn again.  I assume you still want to play.  You can of course name a new guy Calvin or what-have-you.

Yeah Aqizzar, Don't worry!  You're a great player to have on this fort!  :D

I wouldn't worry about the lack of ambushes in a year, happens, as I'm sure many have experienced.

If we go several years w/o gobbs, then we worry.  But I feel that we are getting back on track!

On to the next installment of Eternety!!!  ;D
