"Yup, got it from the mage here."

Stefan nudges the dead Trickster with his foot.

"It belongs to someone named 'Aldegund'. That's one of the names, right?"

[Gaterhyme]

"If they had given up, would we have let them live?" She wasn't inclined to think so.

Levi had already decided to speak for her on the matter of the pendants, but after a moment Lijsbeth also moved to retrieve the one she had for Cecilia's perusal.

"You can see the initials for yourself."

[Haspen]

Cecilia briefly inspected the blood-splattered pendants.

"Mm, these be the names. I guess there's nothing else but to return home." Cecilia looked around at the sorry state of the place.

"And when we're back there remind me to tell old Gustav to take a party and assess the ruin. It could be renovated. Or at least partially rebuilt and put to some good use." She spoke, taking her pegasus outside.

[Gaterhyme]

Lijsbeth secreted Sister Geneviève's pendant away again.

"If it keeps more bandits from roosting this close to Wachttoren, that's enough."

[Haspen]

"It's time to return home, finally." Cecilia reached with her hand toward Levi.

"Come, vanquisher of evil. I will carry you once more."

[GiglameshDespair]

"If they had given up, would we have let them live?" She wasn't inclined to think so.

"...Probably not, I suppose. But they could have at least had a trial or something."
"You must think me terribly soft-hearted, but I don't like seeing anyone cut down like a dog."

"Come, vanquisher of evil. I will carry you once more."

  "Heh. Titles and a ride. Be careful, my lady, it'll go to my head."
The mage reached up and grasped the warrior's hand, and was easily pulled upwards into position on her pegasus.

"...Probably not, I suppose. But they could have at least had a trial or something."
"You must think me terribly soft-hearted, but I don't like seeing anyone cut down like a dog."

"I'm hardly one for killing in cold blood, but we know what they did. Even if they had surrendered this band was always going to die."

He glances at the knight.

"Maybe that's why they tried to fight?"

At the other man's words, Levi let out a sigh of resignment.
"I suppose they were. Please, forget I said anything."

[Haspen]

"I care not for their motives and callings. If they wanted to live, they should've kept away from criminal work." Cecilia shook her head.

"But that's a morbid topic right now. Let us focus on the return home. Hya!" Cecilia ordered her pegasus to start moving.

Less than hour later, and few minutes away from Wachttoren Manor...

Cecilia slowed down her pegasus, to meet with Lijsbeth and Stefan.

"Marie probably worried about us for quite a while. Wounds during combat are obvious matter, but, I would prefer you do not discuss that I was shot, alright?" Cecilia shrugged with a smile.

"Galian Princesses can be scary loud when they are worried, I've found out."

[Gaterhyme]

"I wouldn't have anything to say about it to her in the first place," Lijsbeth said in a mostly disinterested tone. The Gallian princess was their guest and Cecilia's friend, but she had no expectation that the friendship and worrying extended to her and Levi and Stefan.

"Besides, seeing us in good shape will give her the impression that you were unharmed as well."

[GiglameshDespair]

"She won't hear it from me."

Stefan grins.

"I remember the drill. If we don't talk about it... it never happened."

[GiglameshDespair]

  "Perhaps that's why I've never heard talk about you winning a spar against Lady Cecilia."

[Wolfhunter107]

"Gah. You wound me, sir mage."

[Haspen]

Cecilia giggled.

"Levi, please behave. Isn't it enough I triumph Stefan during training? Anyway!" Cecilia pulled on the reins of her pegasus.

"Last one past the gate fetches me my dinner tonight!" And so Cecilia sped off up the hill and around the trees, coming to a sudden stop in front of the Wachttoren Manor's gate...

...a bundle dangling on a rope, hooked above the wall.

The bundle was about a princess-sized, blue-clothed bundle with feminine form.

"NO!!" Cecilia jumped off her mount, almost pushing Levi off as well. She fell to the ground but in an instant lifted herself to jump the distance in giant leaps to grasp at the bundle's dangling legs.

It was Princess Marie's body, hanging in plain view, for all to see.

Screaming and shrieking, Cecilia started to weep out loud and pull at the rope to get the body down.
