For those wondering, I did lose that fight in Urd. I thought the province had 25 PD and that I'd win if there were 5 niefels or less in it; and on testing I seemed to have okay chances up to ~10 niefels, though I expected heavy losses.

The province had around 40 PD (I think!), 15 niefels and a few sacred commanders when I arrived. I will let you all imagine how that went.

That's an upgraded fort's worth of PD.  ???

By which he means Niefelheim lost two heavy infantry. Which more or less illustrates why there have been no other field battles.

Chill aura saw a massive buff in Dom5 against non-resistant troops, and killing niefels quickly is outright impossible for many nations early game.

This is a massive chore (as Agartha can attest to) and I would quit, if only it would not reward ThtblovesDF for picking the equivalent of a grief tactic, as well as harm my current allies.

Oh, my lord. A no-brains battle against indies. The commander eats an arrow from the first volley, gets battle fright, fails morale check, and everyone runs away. The commander, of course, fails to get back home.
Fuck my expansion parties - they are not having a good time this game.

This feels sort of poetic: Beag, a Nemedian Champion, caught a disease from a Well of Pestilence 12 turns ago.

Last turn he was down to 1 HP. And he made it into the Hall of Fame now, the very turn his life expired due to the disease.

It is rather less poetic that he is a dirty coward who never got a single kill, but let's ignore that, shall we?

By the way, since ThtblovesDF shared some of our private messages, I took that for a tacit agreement on me doing the same. Enjoy yourselves:

While Niefelheim burns, giants are now rushing towards my cap. Priorities  ::)

Since this is starting to get annoying, here is the NAP we agreed on:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I publicly declared I considered our NAP void during Turn 11. I sent attack orders on Turn 15. So I more than respected the delay I'd proposed in our NAP myself.

My request for next turn's "Send messages to all" Niefelheim spam is an explanation of whether that is a reading comprehension issue or bad faith, thank you. Alternatively, delusional self-deception would also be acceptable.

I'd be fascinated to learn where Niefelheims cap is given that there's such a small area between Fomoria claims and Agarthas claims. Like if he's in 109 that's squeezed hilariously tight.

Tbh reading the Fomoria/Niefel messages I'm sorta team Niefel here :P. Although assuming Shoot and run is right about the nap timing Agartha doesn't look like a nap breaker.

I think we're far enough into the game that I'm not going to give anyone new information by listing capitals.

Neif is 109. Agartha is 74. Fomoria is 167. Rus is 129. Yomi is 82. Kailasa is 169. Ermor is 7. Mictlan is 48. Pangea is 34. I'm 94.

Most of the players are stacked onto a very small area. Rus and Neif are the most boxed in, with Agartha close behind. The expansion paths that some of us who are less boxed in have are also constrained by thrones and indy blobs, ofc, but all of this is contentious. Note, however, that a big reason Neif lacks expansion routes is b/c their cold dominion is blocking mountain passes that'd give them access to the cloud roads.

You have always been a little bit of a contrarian, to be fair, if I recall. I was trying to secure myself a 18 province early game expansion area and a midgame expansion route I did not have any treaties in, neither of which looked overly greedy on principle, with a map this size and this number of players (189 provinces/10 players).

I have also been generally fair in my border negotiations. Me asking for part of Niefelheim's cap circle is made up by him, as you can see in the exchanges. What did happen was a conflict relative to a province two away from his capital - not that he ever actually argued it from a capital-distance POV during the talks and tried to make it work out, choosing to act demeaning instead.

I was not dealing in double standards either: #183 and #189 are both two away from my capital and were left with Ermor in my border deal with them. And note Niefel himself was asking for #150, which is two away from my capital and three away from his.

And you can't even say #150 was less of a strategic liability for me than #97 was for him due to the river: in his dominion the river is permanently frozen anyway.

ThtblovesDF, meanwhile, has been 'lying out of his ass' at every turn to try and distort reality to suit him, against what should now look to you like piling evidence.

Otherwise, his capital is exactly on #109. Agartha itself has only a handful of provinces; map player distribution was incredibly messy, this game.

Overall, I would say negotiations between Niefelheim and Fomoria broke down quickly and irrevocably. I can see some bad blood on both sides.

But since ThtblovesDF isn't here to be offended, I will just take Azthor's side completely. Death to Niefelheim!

The Niefelheim/Formoria beef is getting stale. You know what's new and fresh? Someone trying to move in on my name theme.

But MM was kinda edgy, right? Like the sort of person who does blood magic by themselves in a nation that couldn't care for it less.
In any case, we're the singing, dancing bunch*. Don't you dare encroach on OUR naming scheme!
