Does does something as trivial as information gathering cost upwards of 10 turns? I picked that subject because I thought it would be extremely easy and fast to do.

Swampmen of Uudvurk
Trait: True Faith
Tribe Total: 5
Workers: 5
Food: 7

The Swampmen, perhaps, were just a bit too overzealous. Surely it did come from a place of utter respect and sublimation, but their attempts at building the grand places of worship that they envisioned in fever dreams to the great and ancient Jaanin'Maldaraak were hardly attempts at all. No more than hauling bundles of sticks around to stack about, only to sink into wetlands.

With renewed vigor, as swampland comes to fruition, more fitting to their name, those of Uudvurk bear an epiphany granted to them by their god. At once they set upon picturing stewarded tubers arrayed, floating in the murky waters of their home, and just how they might accomplish such a feat.

Three Swampmen begin researching farming, however if it appears that such a feat cannot rightly be accomplished by strong hands alone, perhaps they can aid in the creation of basic stone tools?

Beyond that the remaining few scavenge what they can in terms of sustenance, flooding out into the newly created Swampland from curiosity and gratitude.

Two Swampmen scavenge on tile F-4.

I'm almost afraid to ask but... How often is this going to be updated? I thought it would be daily but that does not appear to be the case anymore.

Lets see. Today I worked on my FEF mug with some tracing for an hour or so, read the update then made a post in Titans of Creation read some, watched a few videos, wondered about Land Wars, had lunch, read the Crystal Sphere update, made my post in that, checked in the Dharma server to think a bit, made a flag for Alikai and got the tie broken. Currently 4, 45 minitues will be dinner, followed by winding down before going to bed at 7-8.

I mostly need 2 hours uninterrupted and the motivation, so when there are other things. I also need to buckle down and do the Dungeon's Hollow update.

Also did the arcane mechsuit post, and read that update. Expect a post tomorrow, most likely 10 to 2.

Got all the info lined up to process it tomorrow morning.

Actions are processed, other than the one who forgot where they lived. NG, though art not a beast, but a spider with only 1 tile.

Turn 4: Behold thy first struggles,

Time passes, some add to their number. But a collapse approaches unseen. Hubris shall bring about a fall to balance the scales.

The Age of the Void swiftly approaches an end.

Thul, Purity of Avarice, creates a forest at C5 with 3 FP. He then ponders Deer. Mmm, Dear....

Jaanin'Maldaraak spend 6 FP to create a Rainforest at F3, and a Lake at F5.
By doing so, he has connected his 3 tribes.
While this does not award anything right now, it does mean that they will eventually be able to meet.
Jaanin'Maldaraak ponders Tile Detail Observation further.. While there are no new observations, as being able to even tell when most of the world is void would be too difficult even for a god, he does feel he has achieved a third of what is needed to achieve his aim. 4/12.

The Age of the Void echoes. +1 FP to both Gods.

The West

Blenderong Tribe
2 workers scavenge D3, finding a measly 2 food.[Feral Instinct has Triggered!]
1 worker scavenge C3, finding 1 food. 2 FI Workers join in, finding 3 food.
2 workers research Wooden Tools.
1 worker prays to Thul. +1 FP

Spiderlings
2 Workers scavenge B5, finding 5 food.
2 workers research trap making.
1 worker prays to Thul. +1 FP
1 worker is born for 3 food.

The Zebra Commonwealth
2 workers scavenge C7, finding 5 food.
2 workers research stone tools.
1 worker prays to Thul, +1 FP.
1 worker is born for 3 food.

Overview
The Blenderong Tribe and The Zebra Commonwealth are in danger of Starvation! Some among their number may die next turn, depending on actions taken. Thankfully the Blenderong Tribe's Feral Instincts helped, but only enough to prevent a near-guarantee of a death.
3 FP was generated. As if they want Thul to have enough FP. Suspicious.
There is danger in growing too quickly, and all three tribes have 6 among their number. Those two won't be the only ones facing Starvation soon.

The East

The Amazons
3 workers scavenge F2, finding 10 food.
3 workers research Knapping. It's almost complete!

Swampmen of Uudvurk
1 worker is seized by the desire to Pray! [True Faith triggered.] +1 FP.
Two workers scavenge F4, finding 4 food.
3 2 workers research Farming. It will be difficult, but perhaps together it may be made easier?

The Extradimensionals
3 workers scavenge F6, miraculously finding 8 food.
2 workers research Basic Stone Tools.
2 workers are born for 6 food.

Overview
The Extradimensionals have 7 tribe members. Do they have the ability to support that many for long however?
The piety of the Swampmen is good and all, but also bad in some respects.
The Amazons continue their domination in the food race.
Jaanin'Maldaraak can't really make anything until more FP comes in.
The East is now connected, mostly by a lot of water. Not relevant at the moment, but interesting.

Thul, 1 FP from AotV, 3 FP from tribes.
Jaanin'Maldaraak, 1 FP from AotV, 1 FP from tribe.

Spoiler: Thul's Western Tribes (click to show/hide)

Jaanin'Maldaraak
Jaanin'Maldaraak considers the circumstances of his new followers...

The biggest issue that the tribes faced right now was definitely food. Foraging on the tiles would generally produce at least 1 food however. It was unclear at this time how many people could properly forage a tile in a single turn; but it was presumably somewhere between 3 and 10. Sooner or later it would be important to find out.

As long as the people actually foraged, then they should be fine. Jaanin'Maldaraak figured that foraging with about half of a civilizations population (Rounded up) seemed about right for the time being.

Jaanin'Maldaraak ponders tile detail observation
Had Jaanin'Maldaraak known that figuring out how much food a tile could provide would cost more than twice as much as actually increasing the amount of food, then a very different course of action would have been taken.

Switch to Tile Assessment(Food) Pondering?
As a subset of Tile Detail Observation, it's cheaper short term.
However Tile Detail Observation does more than just asses how much food tiles produce, as you wished to improve upon information when you started it.

Thul, Purity of Avarice
Ponder deer. I'll put some finishing touches on them and they will be ready to spawn. An animal of splendor, that all who are mine may behold and make use of, and know that all rightfully belongs to Thul, Purity of Avarice.
