Prologue - 6
"Here, let me help you," you say, approaching him.
"Ah- It's fine, I don't need help," he laughs and waves you off, but then paused in his work a little, "Although, Ms. Ferguson does have very particular instructions, and I'm getting on in years..."
He points to a cooler, but then immediately changed his mind.
"No, no, not those. How about... we can re-pot this fellow instead?" he placed his shears down and skipped rather too quickly than a man his age ought to be, over to a cracked earthenware pot holding what seems to be an orchid.
"So, what was- is my aunt like?" you ask as you help the gardener move the orchid.
He purses his lips at the question, and lets out a heavy sigh.
"Lots of rumors around your aunt. Mostly nasty ones. New Alderston is...a strange place, and it attracts strange folks, and your aunt was one of them. They'd get half the facts and go wild with'em; Where people couldn't get facts, they made 'em up."
"Like what?"
"Anything and everything you can think of. Old voo-doo magic, dark sorcery, miracle-working. Hell, some folks even called her a vampire, I hear."
He stands, and stretches.
"Don't let them fool you. Your aunt was...is, a good woman. She kept to herself's all."
You two relocate the flower onto a new pot, although it was mostly the gardener doing the lifting. You aren't sure if he even needed your help to begin with.
- Intuition: Examine the orchid
- "So... New Alderston, huh. Could you tell me more about this town?"
- "Could you tell me more about yourself?"
- All that work has made you a little hungry. "Um, I don't think this place has any food, do you know anywhere I can get some breakfast?"
- Something else... (Write-in)
