Honestly I don't want the armor anywhere near the plague.  Yeah send the armor and William so the plague can infect both and make a plague lord.  Seems like a good plan.

The armor will be great for fighting Magnus but I REALLY hesitate for anything before that.

We should use all the assets available to us.  You're the one who wanted to send an Ascended to help, but now you're worried about creating a plague lord?  The armor will increase William's combat ability, not decrease it.

Personally, I really think we should be the only one wearing the demon armour. It's far too risky otherwise.

We didn't get this thing to never use it, simply because it's scary.  If we want to defeat Magnus and the Plague, we need to invest in ourselves, our allies, and our technologies.

Yes - we got the Demon for *us* to use.

Only us?  We can't do everything.  At some point we have to delegate responsibilities to the other Ascended.  I think William would take to it quite well.

This selfishness will lead to more lives lost.

A whole lot more people will die if the plague gets a hold of that armour, so that's something we need to watch out for.

We should keep our military assets in reserve, allowing thousands of soldiers to die in return for holding a small town.  William is somehow inferior to us, apparently, weak of will, and therefore he is unfit to wear the armor.  It totally makes sense to prevent William from increasing his ability to fight right before we send him to fight.  If he falls, a plague lord will be created, so we should ensure he is as weak as possible before going into battle.

Anyway, let's eat cake on vacation while our men die horribly in huge numbers, knowing we could have done more but choosing not to.  Hmm, I wonder if there are any nice shops in this city?

...ho then.

William is somehow inferior to us, apparently, weak of will, and therefore he is unfit to wear the armor.

That's not what I was trying to say. Rather: his strength of arms won't help him, if the demon tries to steal his mind.

You saw what happened, when Φοῖνιξ first donned the demon. Skill and fury mean nothing in there. One thing and one thing only saved her: that she would have died, rather than kill. That she would have died, rather than yield that part of herself.

Can William make the same call, if it comes to it? I'm willing to bet he can... but I want to hear as much from him first. This isn't an easy matter.

I don't think that the Demon would put William through a similar trial, for fear of alienating us, and I don't think that's what the Demon meant by "strain."  If you have doubts, you could just ask it.  However, I do agree that we should let William know what the risks are and let him come to his own conclusion.  Forcing it on him is out of the question.

Phoebe, you need to ask yourself whether you trust your allies.  If you aren't willing to take risks to help your people and train your kindred, Magnus will be the death of us all.

Are we sure it cares about that and wont just put him through the trial away?

But other than that I'm fine with it as long as we ask him if he even wants to risk using first.

On second thought, maybe we should go to the fight with the armor ourselves

That would really show the SEED remnants are weak if the only way they can win a fight is with the power of Phoenix.
