You sit patiently while Emma messages the Demon armor for you and -- your own datapad makes a soft 'bing'. You note a history of messages from Emma, from Isela, all of them describing the situation much the same way as Emma's summary. But the final, and newest messages is from [Flesh]

His training won't save him in the belly of the demon, nor his dust-- that monster demands a different strength. It'll consume him, if he can't rise to the trial.

Emma's lips curl into a frown as she reads the chatlog. "I...I don't know anything about that thing. Just that Silas is learning from it. He's taking a lot of resources. But...he's promising a lot."

 Then, quietly, "I don't think he's sleeping any more. He's on a lot of [amphetamines]. He's gathered a staff-- they're all practically worshipping that thing..."

It sounds like Silas needs a break from this thing before he goes insane.  We should investigate what he's working on once this crisis is dealt with.  I hope Isela knows what she's doing, because it really does make more sense to send the reinforcements in all at once, once they gather, rather than a few at a time in dribbles.  Casualties will be high.

I support letting William use the suit.

Emma pulls out her datapad, and pulls something up. A video, shot from a grainy cheap camera, but far better than anything this planet had to offer before you made contact with the Pirates.

The room is dimly lit by a bank of cheap monitors and jimmy-rigged datapads, all connected to the demonic armor, which sits still and quiet in the corner of the room. A crude robotic arm drops down into a massive vat of gray sludge and chemical, holding a very human arm bone. The lights flicker as arithmetic burns across the multitude of screens-- a very pale Silas stands nearby as strange machines whir to life around the vat.

The machine halts suddenly as the power goes out -- and the mechanical arm is withdrawn manually by latern holding lab assistants in dirty coats.

The armbone is covered in muscle that wraps haphazardly around the mechanical arm's grip. Veins drip the strange metallic liquid, and the arm twitches. You watch as the Demon flexes a hand, rising from its cocoon of cables--

The muscles twitch in the same way, before they go still and slack. Small bits of the inorganic flesh slough off back into the tank.

"Th-there it is. Pure, synthetic muscle, derived from Infected tissues. Controlled through electromagnetic force. Harder than steel. Thin as natural muscle. Self-repairing." Silas stutters, his eyes wide, and a crooked grin on his lips. "Non-carbon based life."

Interesting.  Imagine our soldiers fighting with the durability and regenerative powers of an Ascended.  We should look into mass production.

[Superdorf]

Mmh. That man's playing with some tremendously dangerous toys.

If William's to make use of that thing... write him first. Tell him exactly what he'd be dealing with, and don't put your word to the matter unless he deems himself able. Unless you deem him able.

It definitely makes sense to let William know what the risks would be and let him make his own judgement.
