 :)

[8]Vertigo overcomes you, and you shift your weight to avoid falling from your chair. Your vision blurs for a micro-second.

In your mind's eye, a number of possibilities diverge from this moment into near-infinitesimal fractals of futures; some end in flashes of Gold, some end in Blood, some, in Fire. Fewer still are the paths that drift out from these, into the void of darkness. Your head throbs painfully as you try, and fail, to focus on any one point, and you're left behind by your racing mind, blinking at William as he orders the dessert.

I'm not prepared for Phoebe to kill an innocent woman and a freaking baby.  I wonder if we could smuggle them out somehow without the Thorntons knowing, and then claim we killed them.

Alternatively, we could attempt to use the favor we got from the Thorntons.  Tell them to spare the wife and son, but keep them under heavy guard.  Offer to kill them ourselves should they become a problem, and point out that they may be useful hostages.

Looks like we're in to deep, we might have to bite the bullet and ether kill or be killed.

"...The father. The father, I will kill. Not the wife. Not the child. I've done some killing lately, but I'll not have innocent blood on my hands."

"You want to do me a favor for helping your sister with those goons last night? Raise the child. Give him the Thornton name in my place, and take him for your own. A life for a life."

I would support that with the following additions: indicate that the wife and son may be useful hostages and offer to kill them ourselves should they ever grow to become a problem.

Right then, revised:

"...The father. The father, I will kill. Not the wife. Not the child. I've done some killing lately, but I'll not have innocent blood on my hands."

"You want to do me a favor for helping your sister with those goons last night? Raise the child. Give him the Thornton name in my place, and take him for your own. A life for a life. He'll serve as a hostage if need be, and I'll kill him myself if he ever raises a hand against you."

He mentioned a feud earlier, the other family is likely planning to kill off the Thorntons too

And we're gonna wipe them out swift and brutal-like-- but the child isn't planning anything, is he? He's a victim, and I can't in good conscience be the one to end him.

I noticed you didn't mention what to do with the wife.

I'll be honest, I'm not really sure what to do about her. Partly I don't know how dangerous she is (if at all), but partly I feel we're pushing our luck just trying to save the child...
