Spoiler: Tellos Varren (click to show/hide)

Tellos was eager to begin cataloging the vaults. However there were the initiates to deal with first. They were a distraction, but without initiates there wouldn't be an order so it was his duty to see they were properly trained.
Selecting twenty of the more promising recruits he began to teach them the ways of the Sith, lightsaber combat and how to harness the force. His lessons were strict, some might even say harsh but students lives were not risked without need.
After a morning class Tellos spent the rest of each day searching the vaults. He brought with him the least annoying of his students, an initiate with a quick wit, a strong connection to the force, and a willingness to accept instruction. They were mostly just there to take notes, but Tellos did provide instruction suitable to an apprentice.

Teach a morning class of 20 promising initiates. Take the most promising as an apprentice. Spend the rest of the day Cataloging the vaults.

Astronavigate and Analyze Hyperlane Paths/Galactic Maps for points of interest on our current location.

Janwuine the Gand Order agent needs to utilize the technology of astronavigating our area, to check in our hyperlane jump paths, areas of contention where the Civil War is brewing, private planets that gave lots of ship “traffic”, and anything of interest with the support of our Intelligent Agents expertise to full effect. Also while doing this see if Janwuine can look for a favorable initiate that looks worthy for being an apprentice of my work.

Turn 1 Mini-Update 1

Deep in the bowels of the Dread Mandate,  great obsidian doors stood guard over the treasures of the Vanacari. Dark power coarsed through the air, a sweet sickness. The discerning eyes of Lisnyk observed that the doors themselves crawled with ancient runes, made to contain whatever was placed inside and prevent any ... leakage. Some would pay small fortunes to merely study them. Others would be all too eager to kill for the chance.

Mithren surveyed the antechamber, filled with several squads of initiates. They had been outfitted with their uniforms, simple black well fitted robes. Armor could be added for excursions, as they were in this case, but their main purpose was in allowing freedom of movement and comfort. The Vault’s dangers would not likely be physical in nature, anyway. Not that they knew exactly what was inside. Master Invicta had squirreled many artifacts and secrets during her time, but she kept it close to her chest what exactly was inside. When she was slain  during the War with the Hand, the Dread Mandate was kept in orbit over a backwater world as the Order dealt with their losses. Only now, after losing their more prominent outposts, was interest regained in the Dread Mandate. Even if there was little of value inside, Mithren hoped that this would be a good opportunity to test their mettle.

Tellos Varren strode with the three other Masters to the Vault door, his will already stretching out to the door. The doors were not mere physical barriers, extending a field that repelled the Force from it.  The runes formed a complex locking mechanism, keeping the doors firmly shut and nigh impervious to damage. It was in these grooves that they would extend their will, leading down winding paths and countless loops. If one did not know the key to open it, one might spend day trying endless permutations. This vault was prepared with a common Vanacari technique that was required learning for most Vanacari. With a small twist of his power, the Vault doors began to grind open.

The Masters led the way into the dark and round room, the walls covered in rows of data tablets. In the center of the room stood a display plinth, floating an ornate scepter that called to the three of them with a seductive promise of power. With a thought they quickly warded off the siren’s song. In between rows hung lightsabers of many different styles, some clearly of Sith origin and others of Jedi. There were two reading nooks in opposite ends, set with chairs. A doorway lead deeper into the vault, opposite the Vault entryway.

An Inductee strode forward, almost in a daze. He reached out towards the scepter, almost grazing it with his fingertips before he was forcibly flung away with a gesture from Mithren. He tumbled to the ground with a gasp as Anna looked back.

“Careful now, objects like that scepter can entrance your mind and enslave your soul. Don’t touch anything without permission.” Their eyes widened, and some began to edge back towards the door. Anna marked them, their fear a sign that they might lack the ambition that leads to true power. She also took care to diminish the siren’s song of scepter. It was a strong lure, likely placed at the entrance to entrance those unworthy of the treasures further beyond.

Lisnyk made several notes of the data records that covered the walls in the room. There were many intriguing titles. While most would probably prove to be trivial, there was bound to be something worth digging up.

Further on, the vault did not disappoint. The next room was covered in precious metals, with golden bars stacked taller than Mithrin. Several stacks were scattered across the ground, some cut in half by a lightsaber. A quick investigation revealed a dessicated body buried under one fallen stack. The next room held various machines and vehicles.  Some were industrial looking, while others were sleek and dark. 4 suits of ancient Sith battle armor stood guard over the room, still bearing the scorch marks and gouges of their last battle. The next room was the last. The three masters entered cautiously. This room was mostly empty, only containing a low table at the end of the room.  On the table sat 2 holocrons, and in between them a darkened box.

Suddenly a cry erupted behind them, and the snap hiss of many lightsabers. The four masters shared a look and rushed back.

The inductee staggered to the ground, his chest a ruin of punctures and blood as the droid recovered from the shove it received. It dodged the lunge of another inductee desperately trying to skewer it, and with a twist of its arm sent a bolt through the attackers head. Three more initiates had collected themselves and moved in on the offensive, lightsabers ready.

What do you do?
A. Let the Initiates take care of it. The assassin droid would hardly be a challenge for any of you, and you are trying to train Sith here. The challenge will force them to rise. (Good chance of discovering worthy apprentice material. Very likely that there will be more fatalities.)
B. Disable the droid. Aside from saving any more damage to your students, the droid might be irreparably damage from their efforts to destroy it. It's better to deal with things yourself. (Not really a test for any of your students, but you can repair an assassin droid.

(So first event/miniupdate! Just requires the input of those involved, they play out over possible a day or two to several days.)

Allow the Inductees to deal with it, but intervene with telekinesis to prevent most fatalities. The dead have a hard time learning from their mistakes, after all. Support them with my group coordination buff.

"Focus! Work together. The Force is strong and dangerous in this place. Draw on it carefully, focus on what your fellows are feeling, doing, see what will happen before it does. Fight defensively. It is difficult to strike after you are dead, so remain alive and await the right moment to strike without risk."

And so on with a lecture of sorts. Congratulations, Sith apprentices, welcome to "getting murdered by surprise". We call this "every other Tuesday" in the Sith business.

A.  Tellos will allow the initiates to handle the fight. However he'll act to prevent situations where an inductee is obviously going to die. If possible he will use enhanced agility and battle trance to assist in that aim.

“I’m simultaneously impressed that you have a vault full of Sith artifacts and appalled that you managed to lose track of what’s in it.”

Help Tellos teach the initiates lightsaber combat.

Zephyr wastes no time taking the minimal crew and materials needed to explore the civilized areas without drawing too much attention.
5 troopers, one of them being a sergeant
3 intelligence agents, one being the intelligence head
and 2 acolytes for on field training of the more mundane (or combat exciting) tasks to be done.
Her shuttle should be big enough for the group to act independently.

The purpose of the exploration of the civilized areas is new recruits, deals, contacts, and options to seize control of the planet.

Of course, Zephyr wanted to get out of the metal coffin and have something new to do despite working within Yob's requests on the field, if ever asked. She had a message sent to him before leaving with the crew.

The Vault: Two

The initiate trembled, her heart racing as the droid dispatched the boy. She was Sith though, and she would not back down. She reached deeper than she ever had before, than she could imagine. Power began to well and time slowed down, the inhuman speed of the droid reduced to a reactable level.

The assassin droid lunged, flying through the air at her. Suddenly it was stopped short, hovering in midair when with a terrible grinding sound the head of the droid was twisted off. It continued to twitch, but a few more pops coming from its torso the droid stilled. Its body and head were gently lowered to the floor as the Verpine master approached. The other masters rushed to the aid of the fallen initiates.

The initiate breathed a sigh of relief and relaxed. Like water through her fingers, with the danger to her life gone that barest grasp of a new power fled, and she returned to her normal state. The memory of a barrier breaking, a new horizon reached, faded soon after, and all she felt was thankfulness for the Verpine Master saving her life.

Gained Assassin Droid!

Returning to the box flanked by two holocrons,  Mithren carefully lifted the lid. Inside sat a blackened humanoid skull, engraved with intricate tattoos of silver swirling across its dark features. Deep in its eye sockets were dim pits of red. Mithren and the other masters in the room felt it send a faint message telepathically.

“I... am... a Trust... of the Vanacari.”

Trusts were very rare, created as guardians of extremely dangerous knowledge that couldn’t be risked falling into wrong or unworthy hands.  They were bound in skulls or other artifacts, the details a closely guarded secret. Often times a powerful master was sacrificed into immortality this way, rarely did they volunteer though.

“Feed... me... and I... will share... our lore... and power... beyond... imagining... if you... are worthy... “

And at this, the light, dim already, fades away, leaving the tattooed skull grinning up at Mithren.

Cataloging of the Vault begins!

On the World of Zarcath:

Over the canopy floated a massive barge, almost a small city built up over a thousand year. Bright streamers extended from the tops of buildings, and music played in the center of the community. But bristling turrets and eagle eyed scouts roaming the perimeter belayed the pleasantness within.

The shuttle from the Dread Mandate touched down on a landing platform near the edge of the barge. With a slow descent, the landing ramp touched  upon the durasteel. Titus and Ulaan, freshly appointed masters of the Vanacari, stride down the ramp to meet the guard awaiting them. Those greeting them are hardened men and women in fatigues, carrying large rifles that could almost be considered anti vehicular.   In charge of the welcoming party is a hard looking woman, in the same uniform with a little more ornamentation, keeping a steely gaze locked upon the two Sith.

“What can we do for you, my Lords?” She asks, tone respectful but far from ubiquitous.

A. Take command of the barge. This just represents a step in taking full control of the planet. They are lesser, and should be made to serve. Kill those who resist. May give your initiates some experience.

B. Negotiate for assistance. Though you are the superior partner, they have much more experience on this planet than you do. Ask for assistance in setting up a camp, and a rundown on the notable creatures and resources available. They are more valuable willing than dead, but they may demand a price for their help.

A distant voice in your head answers you.
“Feed me ... Life ... Force... and I will ... give you... power. “
An image flashes in your mind, of a cloaked figure alone on a world, burgeoning with the Dark Side, as life from the planet flowed into him, and all turned to dust.

Exploit the planet below:

B. "Ask" for assistance. The price, should they not offer to do so out of the charity of their hearts or to be in our good graces since it might make the area safer for them if we were to establish a camp, being that we won't blow their barge out of the sky from space.

"Greetings. I am Master Titus Arellian. We would like your knowledge of this planets, its beasts and resources. I see no reason why your people and ours should come into conflict over this. Willingly sharing this information with us would be a grand step to an amicable relationship that I'm certain would help you prosper. Perhaps some of your most gifted might even be brought into our ranks. But make no mistake. If you refuse and instead wish for hostilities, we will end you and the rest upon this barge." Titus claps his hands together with a smile, an oddly dissonant action with the end of his speech. "Simple, yes? You scratch our back and we scratch yours. Or you can try to fight us and we can bombard your back, front, and the rest of you into oblivion from space."
