Toady should implement flammability for dwarven beards so that dwarves that get to close to magma and fire will catch fire.

...solves the problem of whether there's "infravision" implemented, or there's actually torches/etc silently set up the tunnels you dig. Just have permanently smoldering beards..

(Adds a problem when trying to drink any of the more 'refined' types of alcohol, where they have to be very careful how they sip the spirit/whisky.)

implement a second race of dwarf, called 'dworfs', that are generally 100-200 units smaller, culturally trend towards longer beard styles, and have a predilection for cave lobsters that overrides most other tastes. Also, every third child is born with eight eyes like a spider and no one really acknowledges this difference.

Once added to the game, never reference or mention the dworfs again, and never explain which dwarf race is the 'real' dwarf and which is the imposter.

Add dozens of dwarven "subraces" that are all functionally the same but differ in some trivial detail of appearance, habitat, or culture. Then do the same with the other four civilized races.
