To make things more challenging the side-scrolling is continuous (in one direction only) with no possibility to stop or backtrack.

And you only see one X or Y slice at a time, no background.  But you can move in the X or Y direction.

Instead of being shown only one Z-level at a time, now you see all of them, at once, added on top of one another and averaged together. It's like X-ray vision, only terrible.
