Elf corpses are now the exception to the "stressed from seeing a dead body" rule. Dwarfs will in fact get a positive thought from seeing a dead elf body.

Not terrible.  Not as good as their hereditary enemies the goblins being the exception, but not terrible.

We could, of course, have a sliding scale for the reaction the corpses of different civilized species elicit in dwarfs:
-Dwarf = very negative thought
-Human = negative thought
-Kobold = neutral thought
-Elf = positive thought
-Goblin = Very positive thought

It's actually pretty terrifying to think about having all of your fat melt off into grease because you started sweating too much.

To make that suggestion more terrible - I think some dwarves should have a preference for elf and goblin corpses - dragging dead bodies back to the tavern with them or stuffing them in chests in their rooms. Miasma ensues.

Dawnthunder: It menaces with spikes of tetanus
After the fire had burned down all of the wooden next boxes on the surface, Mottled Petrel was reluctant to replace them with more wooden nest boxes. Instead, he placed the remaining store of wooden nest boxes in the dormitory for any aspiring koopa mothers.

The nest boxes were immediately overrun by helmet snakes.

Much suggestion, very terrible: getting wood must first require felling the tree, then sawing the trunk and branches, then splitting the wood, followed by a period of drying, shorter or longer depending on climate, wood stack location, tree species, etc. Otherwise item quality and durability is negatively impacted and firewood emits smoke and becomes less efficient.

Creatures with a sufficiently low memory attribute should occasionally forget the names of things. This can happen at any time, be it during a strange mood, when looking at an object, or my personal favorite, when issuing demands.

"Servant, come hither! I, Urist Dullhammer, Baron of Beefdip, demand something!"
"Yes, sire, what is it?"
"I demand a flotsit, crafted from tharsnip."
"...Wot."
"A flotsit. Crafted. From. Tharsnip."
"Sire, are you having a stroke?"
"DO NOT QUESTION MY MAGNANIMOUSNESS!!!"

Add explosive diarrhea as a syndrome effect. It causes dwarves to occasionally generate massive amounts of miasma and magma mist. If it's above 100 strength it causes the dwarf to explode when it ends.
