Node Frigate Toughness Revision

The node frigate is the only ship in our fleet meant to have actual Liir aboard it. Unfortunately, it's also the weakest. By adding a minor endoskeleton to the ship and fixing the flaws in its outer surface armor, we hope to improve the survivability while also increasing rigidity, an important factor for manouverability.

All depend if we wants our drones to retreat or attack if the Node is down, I think that tougher node would be a better option

The node is the definition of central. If anything happens to it our entire fleet becomes far less effective. We need it as tough as we can make it.

Node Frigate Toughness Revision
[Efficacy: 2]
Adding an endoskeletal structure to the Node Frigate proves impossible within the time constraints. However, our bio-engineers are able to fix approximately 80% of the issues with the inadequate armor coverage inherent in the base design.

Node Frigate Toughness Revision: Corrects roughly 80% of the problem areas of the original Node Frigate's primary armor.

Well, might as well make a votebox.
Big Ship, Troop bay and a medium mount weapon.
Turn 0 We can make a simpler targetting eye at 4 dice. The psy pulse covers everything but combat targeting decent enough so an easy targeting eye on the combat forms will be sufficient for now.

Psionic Spine launcher.

The psionic ripper launcher is a large  (medium mount) railgun-esque weapon, adapted to fire a liir sized spine, made from strong metal impregnated bone and chitin. While the spine is a weapon in of itself, it is what is inside the spine, underneath a thick layer of specially designed marrow, fat and flesh. This layer is designed to minimize kinetic energy transfer to what is underneath it, and protect it from the dangers that come with impacting a hard metal target and being launched out of a railgun.
Underneath of the protective layer, is a large brain. Fully adapted to use telekinetic psionic powers to the absolute limit of a brain its size. This brain is so specialized to use telekinetic powers; it does not actually have a mind as we would know it.

When the spine impacts a target and sticks inside the metal plating of its hull and/or armor through the use of thousands of specialized barbs, both microscopic and otherwise, the brain will begin to use its telekinetic ability to push and crush the material in front of it. The larger barbs, wiggle the spine forward even as the brain creates more room in front of it.
This means that for the next 10 seconds, the liir sized spine will dig itself deeper inside the target, before the brain proceeds to destroy itself via releasing a powerful telekinetic wave, emanating out from the spine.
this powerful wave leaves the brain completely burnt out, and the hull around the spine blown open as though by a large explosive.

Hmm

Frostgiant, I would much prefer the plasma railgun you wrote up.

I've never written up a plasma railgun.
I wrote up an acid biorailgun a while ago, but that was made with a small mount + easy starter in mind.

Didn't you want to wait with the psionic launcher after we got the Psychic Pulse Detection prototype?
