When I make the box I combine similar actions as to have less spread among the many. I can stop doing that if you would like.

Nallihen couldn't fathom why things were suddenly disappearing then reappearing or suddenly changing color, shape or address. He was used to such phenomena only happening within the tower's grounds, what with the rampant abuse of magical power that was the realm of mages. Those events might even have gone mostly unnoticed were it not for his soap being replaced with a blue hedgehog during shower. That was an unpleasant experience for both parties involved. The dragon-hybrid needed some bandages but freed the unharmed hedgehog afterwards.

His brilliant mind arrived at the natural conclusion that the whole thing was a consequence of his awesome powers bleeding out as he worked up an intellectual sweat teaching those dirt-poor peasants how to be proper cultists. Or maybe it was the piss-poor peasants accidentally creating a field of magical instability due to their newly-awakened powers. He'd research the actual source of the disturbances later if they continued.

And Nallihen was quite satisfied with his suicidal volunteer! He hadn't even turned into a spellblade hermit crab yet. "I shall keep teaching you about UNLIMITED POWER! Now, remember I am not a crab and you really shouldn't be trying to turn into one. Specially a screaming crab. Specially a screaming face crab."

Nallihen keeps teaching the suicidal volunteer some more Polymorphing.

Maxime takes stock. The original ruiners of Marcille's life seem to be mostly insane or gone, leaving very few mages both present and compos mentis. A new idea forms and sharpens, filling the forefront of her mind.

"I planned to dissuade Enoch without subjecting his body to unspeakable horror, but this may be sufficient also. The changes made to the Princess, they may be irreversible by this point... but further changes are not impossible. I must speak to Nallihen."

Marcille must be very mentally powerful to still be alive, right? What with all the visions and all? Try and work out a technique by which she could use her steel force of will to project a mental insect aspect: assuming the soft glow of a dragonfly, and perhaps wings later. Don't try and teach her, just ponder whether if it could be done.

After questioning several crab cultists, Maxime determines Nallihen's rough whereabouts, then follows the screaming and crab noises. She plays on the deep psychological triggers most people notice after ten minutes of conversation with the Polymorpher.

"Nalllihen, while I can see that you are involved in important research, I have a suggestion for the rehabilitation of the Princess. Instead of trying to reverse the effects of Dagon magic, perhaps we may counterbalance the mark of the cold and fathomless depths with transformation towards burning lights and skies. Marcille's puissance, however twisted at present, is clearly unmatched among her peers, and to turn it to the light and skies would benefit her pliable temperament. It often occurs that mages of a truly noble lineage achieve power some would call draconic... to guide the Princess on this path would however require great courage and wisdom. Do you think there are any capable of such instruction?"

Nallihen's mood sours slightly upon seeing Maxime. He'd rather not be remembered of the disasters involving the princess. While the other mage's talk plays a bit into things he enjoys hearing, it is fairly obvious his disposition isn't the best. Having faced disappointment back in the guild and enjoying success with his cult, it seems that prying him away from the crab cult will be a hard if not impossible task, at least for now.

"Well, Polymorphing is for temporary transformations. I could teach the princess while she thought she was a cucumber, but they completely changed the princess into an abomination with tentacles and ruined my attempt to teach her Vitamancy! Did they fix the tentacles already?" he asks, expecting a negative answer since she was talking about counterbalancing the effects of the eldritch magic.
