You've only missed the preamble. There has been no combat, only four years of pre-game development, so that the first combat report isn't just "Forces are evenly matched in every way, combat is a stalemate".
Combat reports will be posted in this thread... I think/hope.

I mean, yeah, it adds something to the game. But it is also more work for the GM, and the lack of information can also be frustrating at times- and it makes it harder for newcomers to tell what is going on.
Personally, I enjoy it. So long as Draignean feels up to it.

Losing marines, as opposed to, what, never going anywhere, for fear a soldier might stub his toe and die?

Also, I'll grant you we lost a few soldiers in the Three Captains, but how the fuck do you imagine we are losing marines in the Unfinished? It's an empty spire. The only living things there are our soldiers. The only reason it's taking us a while to take over is that it's so big. Seriously, why wouldn't you send soldiers there?
