The team scans the pineapple, comparing results, sugar samples, labeling information. Superficially it appears to be a pineapple, though none of those scanning are confident to claim so with any kind of certainty beyond the superficial.

Sertan looks back at Dahn and smiles a bit,"Haha yeah may bad man but I mean scans say it's a pineapple. I mean we should take a sample or something right? To see how organic shits ticks on this side."

Wolfram speaks up. "I have to agree with them. It's best to take back samples to be studied more thoroughly instead of ingesting what we find on this side of the gate.

Ignoring Virgil, and looking at Sertan, Danh says, "Why don't you? You seemed awfully keen on touching the portal-fruit earlier."

Frazz shakes himself out of gawking at the area

"Oh, there it is!

Frazz goes over and carefully closes a specimen bag around the pineapple.

"This was one of the first things we chucked in here to test what exactly our Machine did. But it's weird, I don't see any of the other stuff. We threw in at least a dozen mice and a couple of recording instruments.

"Aww man I actually did wanna touch it and possibly eat it."

Sertan looks around the place a bit wondering a few step away from the group and think aloud,"Wouldn't it be fucked up if this place mutated the mice and now they're huge monsters now."

"You kidding me? That would be awesome. Though that wouldn't be good news for us. Hey, then again, who hasn't wanted superpowers?"

Frazz then shines his light all around the room

The coffee cup turned up behind the gateway as it shut down, and the rings returned to the floor. The tablet wasn't far away. No sign of the rest.

"When we first found this portal we didn't have proper scientific supplies. We got restless waiting for the Earth-Mars transport to get here and chucked the closest organic thing we could find. It was more for seeing if it came out the other side than anything. Turns out it didn't."
