End of Mission Summary and Report.
The Board of Directors is labeling this mission as a success, though not an unmitigated one. The team was tasked with determining whether the gates could return, and in that sense, they were successful. The loss of the facility on the fire side is deeply disappointing to the Directors, but they understand that time was a critical factor, and there is only so much even a skilled engineer could be expected to reverse engineer in two hours.
The Directors were pleased that a sample of the alien creatures was recovered from the facility. According to analysis, it seems to contain complex organosilicate structures that lab technicians believe to be artificial. Details will be made available in a subsequent paper, available to those willing to pay. [Will post details in HQ]
Individual employee assessments and rewards are as follows. In addition to the 3kc promised to each of you, you will receive a bonus of Akras Stock based on your performance evaluation. This may be sold at any time for the present market value, available in the most recent news post.
Frazz Goldman 50 Shares
Goldman took early command of the mission, though he was quickly harrowed by the events unfolding around him. Human Resources credits him for his important medical work in keeping Kaito Yoritomo capable and fighting. Frazz will be moved temporarily to low-intensity assignments while his medical needs are evaluated.
Kaito Yoritomo 30 shares
Kaito Yoritomo provided competent cover fire and assistance, but was not presented with an opportunity to take the lead on any important projects, having been injured numerous times over the course of the mission. Human Resources credits his timely intervention for de-escalating the conflict between his team mates partway into the mission. The Board looks forward to seeing Kaito's talents under better circumstances.
Stella Evenglide 80 shares
Despite severe injuries, Stella Evenglide proved exemplary. Beginning early in the mission, her sensor proficiency was able to calculate a timetable to the drones' arrival that allowed the team to take superior positions. Her flanking maneuver, while suggested by another member of her team, was a tremendous success, thanks in part to her singular strike that eliminated the drone in a single blast. While heavily wounded, she was able to neutralize an enemy, and collect samples, the only samples returned to us. The board strongly values these samples, and she is being rewarded accordingly.
Danh Loi 60 shares
Danh Loi's effectiveness on this mission was unquestionable. He is personally responsible for the destruction of two malfunctioning drones, and rushed to provide critical supporting fire when the alien security measures were deployed. Danh was effective in showing restraint, reminding others on multiple occasions to preserve the value in the facility, and minimized the damage from his own explosives. However, Danh Loi displayed a mix of personality disorders on this mission. He is encouraged to seek medical attention.
Ian Klemmer 20 shares
Ian Klemmer's performance on this mission was most disappointing. Although he was able to patch a damaged space suit early in the mission, he quickly fell into an apparent fugue, taking very little initiative and performing only those orders his squadmates requested directly of him. The loss of the facility reflects poorly on him, however digital analysis shows that ultimately, he took risks to save the station that were not inadvisable.
John Boiy 40 shares
A young archaeologist, Boiy was one of the early volunteers for this mission. Despite a lack of combat training, he was able to assist in the destruction of a drone. He made important findings in the observation room that helped to direct the team's task, and worked diligently through heavy fire to try to save the station. While he was ultimately unsuccessful, his efforts were duly noted.
Ricardo de Castillo 80 shares
Ricardo's unorthodox methods of warfare are more reminiscent of the Green Arrow than a soldier, preferring to fight with a mix of primitive weaponry. Analysts were initially very skeptical of this, however de Castillo ultimately proved them wrong, acquitting himself far above expectations. De Castillo was able to meaningfully damage a drone with his bow, but more importantly was able to use his melee weapons to expose both the heavy combat drone and the alien security device that is being referred to in the lab as a 'Horror Knight' to heavier fire. Ricardo provided the impetus to collect samples of the aliens that the lab techs are referring to as 'Rushers', and is being suitably rewarded. The Board wishes to express, however, their desire to see Castillo replace his bow with a standard magnetic pdw on subsequent missions.
Wolfram von Steinheil 50 shares
Wolfram von Steinheil acquitted himself well, providing excellent services as an archaeologist and interpreter. He was able to discern the layout of the facility, and to create a framework for sorting addresses which should render dialing home trivial in the future. The Board of Directors is pleased with the care and excellence with which von Steinheil performs his duties.
Sertan Tarf 70 shares
Sertan Tarf excelled in this mission, both as a leader and a combatant. Frequently assuming command of the squad, Sertan displayed extraordinary tactical prowess and accuracy with his weapon, killing two drones, leading a maneuver to outflank a heavy drone, and destroying many of the alien defenses, including the 'Horror Knight'.
Vigil Henderson 40 shares
Vigil's performance in this mission was exceptional. He provided medical services to save a valuable member of Akras' team after rushing into a battle he knew little about. He provided critical battlefield initiative in the battle against the heavy combat drone. The Board notes with some pleasure that Vigil was helpful in nearly every stage of the mission, appearing frequently as an assistant, but encourages him to specialize further.
Jonathan Cross 20 shares
Cross performed professionally, engaging in firefights competently throughout the mission. Cross took very little initiative in the mission, participating competently in firefights and providing important support, but was ultimately unable to display the level of excellence his personnel file led us to expect. Akras notes that like Vigil, his broad array of abilities made him a useful support on the mission, and notes that his deference to others may have been due to his confidence in Sertan's planning capabilities. He willingly engaged every enemy, often placing himself in danger. The Board recommends in future that Cross have more confidence, and hopes to see him excel in smaller, more focused teams.
