Mission One: Aftermath
Section Three: Paralyzed
Before Amnis can react any further, the first creature he saw in the black labcoat, known as a Collector, bore out it's sharp, jagged claws as it lunged towards the shape-shifter. [10 v 4] Two claws stabbed straight into his chest, sending Amnis gasping for air as the wind flew away from him, as blood spurted out of the wound. With a smile befitting that of a slasher villain, the Collector then attempted to wrestle it's new prey to the ground. [8 v 5] Without doing much more damage, Amnis does collapse as the Collector stands over him, savoring it's meal as it looks directly into his eyes.
(Idle) [8+2 (Called Shot) v 5] "
I've got the right kneecap in sight!" Cromwell shouts, which forces the Collector accosting Amnis to look up. When it does, a slug round slams through the creature's right kneecap, splattering bone and purple blood onto both Amnis and the floor. Letting loose an inhuman growl through the stitching, the Collector tumbles onto it's back, too stunned from the blow to finish Amnis off.
The second Collector in the room turns towards the sudden intruder, it's eye wide with stunned silence, but it readies itself into a combat stance. Then, without warning, it vanishes into purple smoke, [1 v 2] only to suddenly reappear over Cromwell in a gust of vapor. Raising it's claw up, it readies its-self to kill Cromwell, only for the exterminator to simply walk out of the way. Landing on it's feet, the Collector turns to Cromwell with an impressed gaze, it's stitched mouth showing sharpened teeth.
(Idle) Terrance Peel raises his silenced P90 up to the second Collector, walking behind him so as not to disturb the creature. [3 v 1] A bullet slams it's way through the Collector's cheek, flying through the stitching. With it's mouth free, it's razor sharp teeth bare themselves as it roars like that of a wild animal.
"
Well then, creepy monster-infested lab thing! I'll just have to make this showy, hm?" is the taunt uttered by Miki Satou as she then runs behind one of the Arc Generators. Raising her flintlock up, she can see [6] the wounded Collector still squirming around on the ground, and thus she acts. [8+2 v 1-1 (Stunned)] Before the creature can even scream, Miki's flintlock fires as it bores a hole through the Collector's head, killing it instantly as a purple puddle forms under it's head.
Rather than engage just yet, Callie instead heads towards the door to engineering, hoping to find something useful. Tailing along is the Carp Cleric, his newspaper wrapped fish still flopping about as he walks. [1] Not only does the door not open, however, it seems unlikely brute strength alone will fix it. A keycard reader on the right hand side tells the story: they need a keycard that has the clearance necessary to open this door.
Standing up with a hand clutching his chest, Amnis says "
Well, hello there... what exactly are you two?", as he looks down at the corpse of the Collector that attacked him. Readying himself into a stance, his epidermal carapace holds tight as he raises his fists, ready for a counter attack from any angle.
Patting down the syringe in his left holster, Jacob unshoulders his rifle and checks the magazine. Yep, all the shots are in place. Walking towards the doorway, he aims at the Second Collector, before opening fire. [2 v 1] The shot grazes the Collector's cheek as it flies into the wall.
Sorry for the shorter descriptions. I felt like I needed to get this turn out. Next turn will be more in depth, if you want.
Also, I decided to introduce an Initiative mechanic, because I felt like it would make things more interesting.

Personality: Bubbly, but pretty intelligent, helpful, generous, prone to nervousness.

Starting Weapon: Two one-handed energy-based pistols. Both double as a focus for OMNI tech.
Starting Abilities: OMNI-Barrier(Lv. 1 Active): Generates a protective barrier around up to 2 allies. The strengths/weaknesses of them are based on a randomly generated attribute. (ex. a Cat barrier would be effective against fleshy or birdlike beings, but be weak to canine beings, spray bottles, etc.) Only two barriers can exist at a given time, but if they were generated separately, they can have different attributes. Cooldown of 4 turns.
OMNI-Shot(Lv. 1 Active): Adds an attribute to a gun for the next 3 turns it's used. (Examples: Unusual is more effective against weird targets, Light makes them shine very bright, Insanity is effective against particularly sane targets and travels weird, etc.) Can shoot with the weapon on the same turn it's used. Cooldown of 3 turns.
OMNI-Ally(Lv. 2 Active): Summons/creates/synthesizes (Dr. Fable's unsure) a (usually) humanoid allied unit that follows Callie's orders, based around an attribute. Often capable of a good physical attack. Can be 2 with 1 different attribute each, or 1 stronger ally with two attributes. Each lasts for 8 turns or until dead, and cannot stray too far from Callie. Cooldown 4 turns, reduced to 2 if all died within first 2 turns summoned.
OMNI-Reserve(Lv. 1 Passive): Starts each mission/time-in-hub with 2 different attributes randomly prepared. Either can be used instead of a random attribute for other OMNI skills.
Ambidexterity(Lv. 1 Passive): Can do different things with each hand in a turn. +1 to rolls where both hands do the same thing separately.
Backstory: Assistant to eccentric genius Calvin Fable, known for his research into using quantum uncertainty as a source for energy. While many doubted him, Callie stuck with him for two whole years before his great breakthrough. Using a vast conceptual randomness, the technology, dubbed OMNI (Overarching Mechanism of Neo-random Integration) can cause great varieties of effect by limiting the choice of specific effect. However, due to the disdain of the scientific community, he is unwilling to share his secrets or technology with anyone except Callie. Currently, she was asked to do some field work, and he signed her up for this mission.

Appearance: A somewhat lanky individual. He wears wide-rimmed glasses and a dark-brown faux-hawk.
Personality: A seemingly uncaring individual who hates being bored. He actively tries to be snarky, but is aware he isn't very good at it.
Status: Fine
Weapon: Combat Shotgun
Abilities:
Crack Shot (Level 2 Passive/Active): Cromwell gains +2 when he performs a called shot.
Iron Will (Level 2 Passive): Cromwell gains +3 to resist any mental detriments.
Stealth Practitioner (Level 1 Passive): Cromwell gains +1 on rolls to not be seen.
Tracker (Level 1 Active): Cromwell can spend an action to try to deduce the whereabouts of a person or entity.
Backstory: Cromwell is, as he calls it, a "Freelance Pest Exterminator", he's been selling his mercenary services to various scientific and government organisations to hunt down their failures and clean up their mistakes that they didn't want the public to know about for over two decades now, but he's still a long way from retirement.

Personality: Proud, almost narcissistic(debatable). Quick-thinking. Blunt and generally strange.

Starting Abilities: Unarmed Combat (Level 2 Passive/Gives a bonus to attacks utilizing his body), Adaptive Anatomy (Level 2 Active/Amnis can safely morph his body either partially or totally. Making flesh tougher and heavier by converting it to steel is a common application, as is changing his appearance in general.) Degeneration (Level 1 Active/Amnis can warp other's anatomy as well, if he can make physical contact. However, it is likely to be permanent and/or harmful) Quick-Thinker (Level 1 Passive/Amnis is better than most at more 'impulsive' thinking. This makes him observant to danger and prone to episodes of effective improvisation. In other words, bonus to things that require fast thought.)
Backstory: Amnis was once a geneticist obsessed with the concept of transhumanism. In the face of encroaching death of the human race by global pollution he hoped he would succeed at finding a way to live through it all and help the human race shed their weak bodies. After years of studying the DNA of creatures like the blue-ringed octopus and the
Chamaeleonidae, he made his greatest achievement by synthesizing strands of adaptive DNA that would enable humans the ability to have total control of their body and to shape it into something new. He could save the entire human race! Nobody would volunteer for testing, though, so he injected himself first. The process has granted him his dream- He is no longer human, but he is no longer the same person either.

Appearance:
Miki is a rather short girl, barely standing around five foot even, to the extent she is often mistaken for a girl two years younger than her, despite already being 18 years of age. She has a runner's build, with scarcely any visible muscle on her; however, her light build belies physical strength rather unusual for a girl of her size or age. Her light brown hair is generally kept in a pair of pigtails to keep them out of her green eyes, a general precaution. Her attire consists of a large, red greatcoat with golden trim and large brass buttons, a three-cornered hat for style, two brown leather boots and white trousers to complete the pirate look. A stylized, slightly oversized flintlock pistol, with cloud patterns engraved onto the brass barrel and intricate swords carved into the stock and a sleek, supernaturally sharp cutlass with a golden hilt and guard are held in a holster and scabbard on her belt.
Personality: Friendly and free-spirited, with an unshakeable will. She's free with her hugs, and even freer with her dramatic poses. She does have a love for shiny things, in the form of liking to decorate things with flowers and glitter though. She also has a flair for the theatrical, often making dramatic declarations or entrances, usually aided by cannonfire from her skyship.

Ocean's Bounty (Level 2 Passive): Miki heals her wounds moderately passively through sheer willpower. Does not activate while Miki is under the effects of True Brine and does not reactivate until she leaves that state.
Let's Make This Showy (Level 1 Active): If this ability's name is announced as an action, Miki's next action is boosted by +2.
Metal Waltz (Level 1 Active): Miki attacks with both her weapons at once, hitting twice that turn.
True Brine(Level 2 Active): If Miki would be struck by a lethal blow, she survives instead with a +3 to all damage and can take no further damage even from massive damage. This state lasts for 3 turns; if Miki is not healed by her allies before then, the attack will then take effect. She can repeatedly trigger True Brine as long as she is not slain and she is healed.
Backstory: Not much is known about Miki, aside from her having crashed onto Earth IV with what appeared to be a giant flying pirate's galleon. She claims to be a Sky Pirate who sails the skies searching for villains to defeat and treasures to add to her bounty, and her weapons (and ship) seem to be powered by magic. Her galleon, of course, is currently grounded and unable to fly, so she has decided to aid the party until her skyship repairs itself for the moment.

Species: Homo-Sapien
Appearance: Wears a darkish-grey, fine suit with a black fedora. Besides that he wears light leather gloves and boots with his trimmed brown hair, has a goatee.
Personality: Keeping things classy by any means necessary, while also making people recognize that Belgium, is indeed a country.
Status: Fine
Starting Weapon: Silenced P90 (Y'know because it's a Belgium weapon)
Abilities:
Rupture (Level 2 Active): Make a standard attack that leaves a blindside for the target, that all future attacks can exploit with a damage bonus.
Insignificant Belgian (Level 2 Passive): +3 bonus for people not noticing him, because he's Belgian.
Combat Monologue (Level 1 Active): Terrance can expend an action to perform a persuasive monologue during combat, has a chance to distract the target from the actual combat and make their own vocal comeback.
Classy Speech (Level 1 Passive): +1 to all persuasion and conservation rolls because of his refined speech.
Backstory: Terrance has been an secret agent for the government of Belgium for his livelihood, but throughout his entire life no one has taken him seriously because of his refined sense of taste and nationality of being apart of such a significant country. He decided to open up his specialization to open up his career experience and for people to give him the proper respect he deserves.

Appearance: A shorter young man, with finger-length blond hair and a wiry frame. Usually wears a T-shirt with a logo of something or another above cargo pants. Has large blue eyes, and often wears a pair of headphones when he can find the time.
Personality: Quite and reserved, though not especially shy. Has been described as "distant" and "robotic" by those who know him. He doesn't avoid people, he sits in the middle of the room rather than the Corner of Isolation™ and is often a part of groups at least the superficial level.

Starting Abilities:
Advanced Medicine (Level 2 Active): Can spend an action to heal injuries to himself or others (Maybe temporarily, if that messes with the healing mechanics)
Combat Boosters (Level 2 Active): Can spend an action to give a +3 bonus to one action to one comrade.
Healing Factor (Level 2 Passive): Moderately heals his own wounds over time during combat (Again, maybe temporarily)
Backstory: Jacob was born on the East coast of the US, were he lived a normal life. After high school he went off to college to get a biochemical degree. He decided to intern at a local lab, a very common summer activity for diligent students. It was here that his life changed forever. They usually had him perform the grunt duties-cleaning glassware, mixing agar for Petri dishes, and moving boxes around. He was good at the first two, not so much the last one. One day while moving an unmarked box, he tripped going through a doorway. He landed on the box hard, which proceeded to break apart with the sound of shattered glass. He had some small cuts-which the green liquid on the floor immediately entered through (ceiling up the wound behind it.) What he had absorbed was a group of experimental medical nanites. The researches were furious, but they had already bonded with his DNA making them costly to remove. Instead, he would be the test subject. He was given an item capable of controlling them, a long syringe filled with green liquid. The syringe releases a green cloud when pressed, ordering the nanites within his own body to exit through his skin to heal whoever was sprayed. A second syringe, filled with pink liquid, instead boosts the physical and mental abilities of the target for a short time.
The Lab he worked for happens to be related to the Zodiac lab, as such he was called upon to assist the group with this mission.
