"In our defense, Fighting against men at arms isn't the same as fighting against monsters and beasts, or even bandits. In the army, following orders is easy...as is working by yourself, as most of us have been doing. Working with others in close concert is much more difficult.

That being said, your point is made. It's time to put ourselves to test."

She thought for a moment, before pointing out various persons, starting with Judas



"You bested me. You are clearly possessing of something that I lack. I think traveling together can help me find what that is. Also, I can keep an eye on you." She said, bluntly.

Then she pointed to Lilian Rook

"I think you'll be best traveling with me as well. I can protect you...and teach you the things a lady who wishes to fight ought to know." She commented, tone implying she had a lot of work to do.

And then Alice

"I believe you're an enchanter, correct? We'll need one of those." She mentioned, as if commenting about bringing an extra pack of horse feed.

Finally, she pointed to Thorsteinn Ásmundarson



"And you, stranger in a strange land. Would you lend your strength to ours?" She said respectfully.

Alice looked slightly surprised at being focused out.
"Me?" slowly she rose to her feet, hesitating a moment before she replied "I'll come with you, I can help you out from the sidelines even if it's not directly."

Judas scoffs, though one can tell he's amused.
"If I wished it you wouldn't be able to tell I'm here. Nevertheless, I shall agree to travel with you. Make sure you don't get tripped by a peasant again."

Seeing the lady-knight arranging a group so soon, Vincent, recognizing a safety in numbers, offered, "I..would like to come with you. If one takes a moment to look around.." He gestures to the crowd, including the twins, "you will notice a surplus of enchanters in the Order".

Alfrieda tactfully ignores Judas's swipe.

She seemed to take more active interest in Alice, who hadn't stood out much before.

"I suppose you could leave the battle magic to me. We'll have to over the particulars of your skills later, of course, but I am well trained in the elemental combat styles. I can protect you against any physical or magical threat, enough to work your own magics.

You should also know I've traveled with and protected all sorts of magic users-enchanters, abjurers, shamans, wizards, alchemists, geomancers, transmuters, bards, chanters, evokers, warlocks, illusionists, summoners, druids, spellswords, sorcerers, mages, diviners, binders, clerics, enchanters, elementalists of all types, and hedge-witches. A one time, a Foreign traveler visiting our lands, who could transform herself into a fox. She actually had a tail. Nine of them.

...I mean, there's little you could do to surprise me." She says dourly.

"You've travelled a lot" she sighed "I guess I would fit in to being a bard."

Alfrieda hadn't really noticed the quiet young man at all, up till that moment...at least not directly. Looking at him, she felt they were similar in some way that she couldn't exactly put her finger on...she often tried to ignore that feeling.

"...I suppose we have room for you, young man. You will even out our group nicely, if all I offered join. Leaves the rest a bit short, or maybe we're just taking the spares. All the same to me...

In any case, it does seem that this is the party for those who need a good deal of protecting."

Lillian nodded. "I'll go, too. I think it'd be good for me to learn how to fight properly."

Alfrieda was glad to hear the young woman was no longer stuttering and stammering. Perhaps she had lost her accent finally. She smiled thinly and nodded.

Alice paused for a moment looking the warrior up and down,
"You've traveled a lot" she sighed "I guess I would fit in to being a bard."

"Not as far as I could have. Most of those people were just trying to get through or escape this land without being burned by the Tyrants Witchhunters or eaten by wolves, and I was proud to escort them. I am sworn by my Knighly oath to defend all sources of Knowledge...especially the living ones." she said conversationally. "I cannot say I am fond of the 'noise' many sorts of people consider modern music, however. I much prefer the classics." she said with a connoisseurs sniff.

((Well, she still has the accent, but is trying to talk "normal" because she thinks it's more polite ))

Thorsteinn watched in bemusement as the jovial man at arms clashed with the sour knight, but kept his mouth closed, he'd not realized that they were expected to go out immediately after the ceremony and without order. Lack luster organization, but he supposed that it would let him roam freely and do as he wished, his preferred way to work.

After being singled out by Alfrieda he nodded to her query.

"Aye then, warriors, woman of magic, and a traitor... Or reformed one at least. Hah! Certainly a well rounded group. It seems like a good enough grouping." he said, watching each purposed person in turn. When the quiet Vincent spoke up asking to join Thorsteinn grimaced in distaste at the man. "Aye then, you are... A mage I gather?" He said, imparting a certain level of disdain on the word mage. "I suppose as Alfrieda said, this might very well be the group for those that needs protection then..." he sighed.

"Oh, I know both." A frown came onto her face "All part of a rounded education and all. I do prefer the newer things though"

"That would be Sir Arvaine to you, Antonio. Some call me the Just.

As for your plan, I have no obligation." He elected not to comment on the man's baron-dodging, simply following the merchant out.

Owen approaches Robert. "Well it looks like it's time to head off. I was wondering if you would like to travel together.
