The left flank is saved by your courageous intervention! Though your men still suffer casualties, the survivors manage to reorganise themselves and push back the rebel soldiers.
Meanwhile, heavy infantry swing round into the traitor knights' flanks. Their pitch-black shields cannot stop your elite warriors, and the horsemen find themselves driven back also.

But the tide turns again in the center, as the traitor knights fight with a conviction that belies their broken oaths, felling many amongst both the heavy infantry and the footsoldiers.
However, the rebel's left flank is broken, as you personally cut down dozens of men, inspiring the troops.

Even their twisted chivalry is not enough to overcome being flanked from both sides, and the traitor knights retreat, only to be caught between your forces and the river. Some fight to the last, whilst others lay down their arms and surrender.

Hundreds, if not thousands of dead litter the field, many of them yours. Yet you are victorious, as the remnants of the rebel army flee across the fords. Once again, you must decide whether to pursue, or let them go.

A-Chase after them! Catch them before they reach the other shore!
B-Take some time to reorganise our own forces, then march after them.
C-Let them go, your troops are too tired to mount a pursuit.

And then, of course, there is the question of captives.

A-Let the river run red with their blood!
B-They have a choice; join or die.
C-Let those who are willing join you, release the rest (after stripping them of arms and armour, obviously)

Additionally, some of the traitor-knights call for mercy on account of their station. They appeal to you as a fellow noble, begging that you treat them with the dignity they deserve.

A-They have the gall to invoke the laws of chivalry after betraying their country? OFF WITH THEIR HEADS.
B-They shall suffer the same fate as any other captive.
C-They are right; they should be treated better than the rabble. Ransom them back to their master.
D-Your noble blood demands you release them unconditionally.

By my horrible forgetful memory and studies in European stuff...in regards to OUR chivalry, I recall a: To those that had violated the code, death was his punishment. [But contextwise, we're in the fall of the lands...Chivalry was a code to regulate violence :v]
BUT, if we don't kill them, they'll pretty much remember us. And I like Warrior Princesses in a time and land being pretty much okay folks.

So I'ma think that them surrendering means 'I'm not trying to taunt the other person and then laugh at them when I get released because they "CAAAARE"'.

Then it hit me that C would possibly be better--we treat them worse than prisoners (since they're MORE extreme than our regular prisoners on either axis) :v and if their master doesn't heed, we can go with execution. [Shifted to C at last option]

While we can, and I do hope we in context do explain our choice to our men, I duly hope that in picking C, we explain this exactly as planned.
