"Your generosity is huge, milord, and we will of course spread word of it as we travel to the others that we meet with along with encouragement to always consider you first when finding merchants to buy from. Trade is the core of any successful nation and I know what it means to shut off a country entirely. Your favor is more than we could have hoped for."

"Well, I suppose I could send a letter of introduction with you toward the head of the crafter's guild in Viterine. I imagine you'll want to speak with him as well- I'm not sure if my word alone will be enough to stop them exporting cheap weapons to Mordo. I know for a fact they've been sending things overseas to them. Are you staying any longer in the city any longer, or will you be moving on?"

"We still need to pick up supplies for our journey. I saw some excellent craftsmanship in some of the weapons in your market. I know some of those will go a long way in our journey. However, I'm afraid we will need to set out soon thereafter."

[Blade Master Model 42]

"Of course, of course. Very well. I will dispatch a messenger to bring the letter to you in the market. Do take care not to leave before it reaches you." Sala Junaid gave three loud claps, and the doors behind the party opened.

Behind them stood the same servant who had ushered them in. "I will escort you back outside."

[Lucus Casius]

  "...Actually, before we leave-"

Martyn gave Junaid an apologetic bow, straightening himself up quickly.

  "I saw the prices at the Viterine Merchant Guild's stand.  I'm well aware of their skill at manufacturing cheap and generic goods, but..."

  "Even the prices when I was in Viterine itself a few months ago were not so low.  While I knew they were dropping after certain changes in the industry there, I'm almost certain they'd be breaking even, if not selling at a loss at current prices."

  "Are they attempting to undercut the market?  Or is something else going on?"

[Blade Master Model 42]

"Well, I'm afraid I really can't speak for them, but what it looks like to me is that they've probably improved their method of production in some way. If they are trying to undercut other smiths, they're doing it everywhere. Seems a little ambitious to be done to try to run other producers out of the marketplace, and of course it seems they don't have the means to produce more intensive designs at such rates. Still, all that I can offer in such a matter is my own speculation. That being said, I do have other meetings today..."

  "Of course.  Forgive me."

Sharne followed the servant out with a small sigh of relief. Once they were safely away and alone, she looked over at Martyn.

"Ok then. After everything that happened yesterday, I took the time to make a quick shopping list of things we might want to buy. There were several good weapons that we could only buy here as well as some of the cheaper ones that you were just asking about. Here, can you think of anything else?"

She handed him a short list, while also motioning to the others,

"I tried to find something for everyone. Does anyone have anything specific they would want?"

Kaldach shook his head as Sharne made her recommendations for shopping.
: "Of course you'd go to the trouble."
: "Well, I don't really need anything. My weapons are holding out all right."

[Swordstar]

"Mmm. Maybe for now, but it can't hurt to get you a better sword than that wooden one you're carrying around. Never know when it might come in handy."

She pointedly didn't look at the corrupted sword the man had, knowing that conversation was better saved for a time and place that wasn't this one.

The mercenary shrugged.
: "Fair enough. A proper iron or steel sword would balance better anyway."

[Sirus]

Sam let out a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding. That had gone pretty well! Maybe Sala hadn't offered to send a dozen legions of troops to kick Mordo out, but she hadn't really expected things to go that easily. At least it was a start.

Back to the business at hand. Sam shook her head at Sharne's question.

: "I don't really need anything, except maybe some medicine. Which...I think is already on the list! Nice planning."

[GiglameshDespair]

"I'm thinkin' some more pilums would do pretty good. Kicked ass with 'em in that last scrap, so ain't no need to change a good thing, yeah?"

[Lucus Casius]

  "It seems acceptable to me, Sharne.  If you would see to this, I'll see about purchasing provisions before we make our way through the rest of the desert."
