After some time, the group was more well equipped and lighter of purse. By the time they'd finished, it was already past midday.

"We should likely figure out where we should go to next. Do any of you have any ideas?"

  "Ryine or Viterine would be best, I think.  Though I'm not sure how many allies we might find in the former."

[GiglameshDespair]

"Ain't much for us in Ryine. I'm sayin' Viterine.

[Gaterhyme]

Liam raised an eyebrow.

"Huh. I don't disagree, but you ever been there?"

"Nah, ain't never been to neither, but there ain't nothin' in Ryine that any o' us 'ave to wrangle with 'em, so we may as well go th' place we might actually get summin' out of."

[IamanElfCollaborator]

"It depends on who is more likely to help us. Viterine will likely be more open to assistance, from what I know of their people, but Ryine's forces are likely stronger. However, it will be rather difficult to acquire their assistance without some way to, as they say, sweeten the deal."

[GiglameshDespair]

"Like what? Could kidnap someone, I guess, but that could go right badly."

[IamanElfCollaborator]

"Just because kidnapping me ended well for the both of us does not mean it will work here. Kidnapping is not a golden hammer, as they say."

"Eh? 'O th' 'ell says that? A golden 'ammer would be crap."

"It is, also as they say, a turn of phrase, akin to 'stealing the precious thing', or your personal favourite, 'Rhea's tits'."

Roux bristled.
"I know it's a mety-phor, dumbass! I'm just sayin' it makes no sense. A golden 'ammer is useless, right? So as a sayin', it's dumb. A golden 'ammer ain't a thing for nothin'."
She paused, then added;
"An' Rhea's tits got nothin' to do wi' this."

  "No, they don't.  Not sure why that needed to be said."

  "Also, we're not kidnapping anyone.  Or... doing anything involving golden hammers.  Presumably."

The very-quickly hidden small smirk on Bertholt's face says it was about as much to do with messing with Roux as it was with explaining what he mistook her for not understanding.

"At least we got a start now. Its like pushing a cart down a hill, the more support we get the more likely we are to succeed. The more likely we are to succeed, the more support we'll get. I'm fine with whatever gets us out of the desert fastest. It'd be nice to get some of the Viterine fire-spitters on our side, or at least some of their weapons."
