Minato, glancing over at Fleur and her tome, simply has a curious expression on his face, his eyebrows arched and his hand on his chin.

Well firstly, the contents are unspeakably lewd, secondly there's something about the illustration, the symbols and circles you seem in some of the pages, you, recognize them. Minato rubs his chin, now properly having a look. Yes, they were ritual circles, proper ones.

Not that he was surprised; shunga woodblocks had a long history of being employed by the Kumon Group back when it was the Kumon Clan, as disguised ritual circles for agents of the Clan to employ against Aramitama (that and they were good-luck charms too; against Aramitama, anyone would look for as much of an edge as they could get).

His mind drifted, by some compulsion, to the tendrils he'd manifested using his arsenal last battle. A small tug told him he could do something with that, but what?

Without another word, Fleur turns the tome back over and continues reading.

"Hey, Fleur, right? Do you mind if I have a look at that for a moment? When I say I'm reading it for academic reasons, I'm being serious."

[Empiricist]

Minato
"Sure." _(Fleur)
He hands over the tome.
"Pervert." _(Fleur)
And with that, she pulls out another tome and begins reading that.

Minato carefully flicks through it like he would a complex write-up on one of the legendary Regalia. If his hunch was right, there was something in here he could use.

You find the section of interest and begin reading the horrifically lewd illustrations from the start, standing right next to Faith. The fact that the person in the illustrations kinda looks like her probably doesn't help.

Faith reached out and caught the belt with both hands when it was tossed to her, and that’s about exactly when the situation spiraled waaay out of control. First, the maid rotated her porn book at her and took a salacious flip through the pages — Faith managed to avert her gaze, but not before getting a glimpse of several panels’ worth of rather unspeakable manga. ”G-God— what the— I don’t wanna see your porn—“

Then her gaze was snatched horrifiedly back when she caught a glimpse of something that looked AWFULLY like her, ”Wh-“ which was then horrifyingly confirmed when Minato walked right up and took the book from the maid, opening the book right up to the section that looked remarkably like it was her who was the subject of...

Well, Faith sputtered for a moment, unable to find words momentarily, until: ”R-really Minato?! What the hell, I...” She had essentially taken on the color of a tomato at this point, with the belt in one hand as she used the other to shield her eyes from that damn book. She let out a breath, sucked another one in, and let out a ”I... I just wanted to get something to fasten these potions...” before she turned on her heel and ran out to remove herself from the situation as fast as she could.

”Hey, wait!”
Minato yelps over at Faith as she runs out. He hadn’t quite clocked that the person looked like Faith; for once, he was more concerned with learning what he could over reading the lewd bits.

He looks a mixture of displeased and dismayed.

Fleur simply turns over another page.

Faith didn't respond to Minato's shout right away -- she really did want to get out of the vicinity of the maid who had shoved horrible weird porn at her and who was now casually flipping through it behind her. This entire situation sucked! She really had just wanted to take care of some final preparations for the fight with the Aramitama, why did it have to turn into some big, weird, sexual thing where Minato had been reading... uggggh.

Once the pervert maid was a sufficient distance away that Faith figured that that stupid porn book couldn't bother her, Faith sighed and then dropped into a sitting position on the lawn. She wasn't crying, but honestly she had felt just a little like doing so, because this was all too much. Why couldn't she just do things without something stupid happening, like having her clothes blown off or being shoved into maid outfits or THIS! Minato could come over here and apologize if he wanted, but Faith decided he was going to have to come over here to do so, while she reined herself in a bit.

Minato does, in fact, come over to explain himself, staying a distance away from Faith just in case. He actually does look rather concerned at this point, as he comes up to her. He does, in fact, give her a bit of space, but he had to apologise to her; he owed her that much.
"Hey, hey, Faith. It's not what you thought it was, I'm sorry if I gave you that impression. It's.....actually for a purpose, believe it or not. And no, I didn't actually notice that it looked like you, and if you'll give me a moment, it's related to why I was reading that."

Faith exhaled a long breath, looking up at Minato with more than a little bit of an incredulous expression, though she stayed sitting down. "I... I mean... what the hell else could it be, Minato? The moment you saw that... that... I didn't stare like you did, but it was BASICALLY of me, Minato! And it was..." She let out another breath, "The moment you saw it, you took it from her and you were just... you were READING it, really READING it! And I don't know why or how there's something like that made of me or if she's the one who did it, but..."

Faith put a hand to her cheek for a moment, upset enough that she was having a little trouble finding words, and that it felt like there was a pressure behind her eyes, though she still wasn't crying yet. "...but it, it really wasn't something I needed when I was just trying to get some-- some clips or something! Her having that is just... it's horrible enough, I didn't need you to just go for it too!"

Minato simply breathes in and out, closing his eyes a moment. He has a calm tone to his voice, although there's some undercurrent of offendedness to it.
"I didn't know, Faith. I didn't see and I didn't make that connection with you. If you genuinely think that little of me that you think I'd actually read something like that with you in it, then perhaps I haven't done enough to prove to you I'm above that, at least right here, right now. Trust me when I say, I didn't read it because it was lewd, but because it had something I had to know."
