Looks alright to me, although Early Reaping isn't clear if it gets better or worse as they go down in health. The example, ironically, has the only health point that leaves it vague. I'd assume better, but the wording seems to imply the more health they have the better the chance is.

I see what you mean about resistance, past a certain point it seems to basically give a double bonus, on the other hand that doesn't stack to well with dodge rolling. I guess it's good we're testing it out, so we geta see!

So, a note about moving, since I managed to forget about that in the revised rules. 1 Frame, 1 square of movement. Movement is only allowed in cardinal directions, and only cardinal directions are adjacent. Disengaging from combat provokes a (light) attack of opportunity unless done using a defensive roll. If an attack was already incoming on the frame the disengage action was taken, a light is upgraded to a heavy, and an already heavy attack gets an instant stagger if it hits. The latter option requires 3 contiguous frames- 2 for the roll and 1 for the move.

For now, just declare a direction along with your movements.

To post actions, please, for my sanity, post your frame-by-frame in a set of five rows. Example:

1: Move North
2: Move East
3: Heavy Warm Up
4: Heavy Attack Against North Bandit
5: Heavy Cooldown

Now that that's out of the way, let's try you out with some simple enemies. Thuggish little bandits. Should be killed quite easily.

You're right. It should be (1-healthFraction)/2. Bah, you knew what I meant. :P

Yes, that is what I was seeing with IO's character as well. I'm thinking about capping it so that your resistance can't exceed your highest possible evasion roll. So you start getting diminishing returns when you pass a resistance of 8 unless you also have some evasion.

1: Move North
2: Light attack warm up
3: Light attack closest bandit
4: Light attack warm up
5: Light attack closest bandit

Miles lightly stepped forward, his unfocused eyes vaguely roaming over the pack of thugs accosting them. His lipless grimace writhed as he tried to make an expression of distaste that now beyond his faces ability to emulate. "Them boys never did listen well." He muttered to himself.

Edit: Wait, I forgot that turns were simultaneous. Whoops. Edited in attacks. Hopefully, that works? I guess I'll find out, I got range 4 and they are eight away, so one frame and they are six, second frame and they are five, on the third frame they step into range but idk if that will count as them being in range. Maybe instead... Can I do multiple warmups without attacks?

Like:

1: Move North
2: Light attack warm up
3: Light attack warm up
4: Light attack closest bandit
5: Light attack closest bandit

At the moment, just from looking at the builds, I think I'm going to have to nerf resistance by a bit. We'll see.

I knew full res tank would be a good test. :3

1. North
2. North
3. North
4. Defensive Roll 1
5. Defensive Roll 2

Aaaaaaand we start things off weird: The tank shambles in front of an ally and then somersaults in place.

I've seen dark souls lets plays. This seems perfectly normal. Actually, I guess it's a little bit weird that you walk there instead of tumble there.

And lo he came before me: A dark mountain made flesh, resolve made material, implacable doom tumbling darkly towards his ultimate destination...

I remember not the exact path of my flight, dive-rolling madly down the shattered halls of that fell place. I did not stop until I had rolled through the gates of Mournheim, where I prayed fervently that such a beast would not dare follow. Even now, among the markets and streets said to be safe- Ha!- I occasionally interrupt my casual tumbling towards some merchant or another to hurl myself sharply to the side, convinced some movement in the corner of my eyes was that dark juggernaut, somersaulting ponderously towards me...

Huh. It occurred to me with heavy attacks, but I think I'm just now realizing a lot of the stuff we do is basically a special wind-up/slouch-down boss attack.

Yes, well, trying to simulate timing on a small scale inevitable feels like you're Godzilla in a rubber suit. Hopefully this will at least be playable.

There's too many enemies to really make that decision I think, not to mention we don't know their melee pattern. Also his defense is so high that defending makes him immune to damage anyway so not really much issue eh?

Actually, there's a good question: What happens if you get a free counter against an enemy you can't reach? Nothing?

I think I will switch to a light active block, if only to see how it plays out.
