Lun: "So far, I see... A red haze and four young children fighting it. Wrong universe... Now I see a powerful creature..."

There's a subtle rattling, subtle enough to not be heard in the building.

Lun: "Its eyes are red, it has large wings, it has a head resembling a skull, and it is humanoid. Frightening."

Fbzib floats quickly away from the rapidly gaining tentacle abominations.
"Hmmm... need to escape..."
Fbzib comes to a door, which is locked.
"Better than nothing!" Fbzib phases through the door, and the abominations smash into the door. Fbzib looks around the room he just entered. It has dark red walls, several inactive portal frames and a blue rectangle in the middle. with some random carvings and a keyhole on it. "Hmm, what is that doing here?"

"Sounds danger-What is that?"

The rattling is loud enough to be heard at this point. A cursory look reveals that it's coming from a shaking vase.

"Um, Lun, what is that?"

Lun: "A mischievous spirit, most likely. Fret not, it most likely won't harm us."

*Lun pulls out a book called "Overcoming Shyness." and reads.*

The shaking grows slightly, before stopping abruptly as a crack emerges near the opening on the vase. The crack glows red, and an inhuman whisper cascades through the ears of everyone in the lab.

The door behind Fbzib was starting to weaken.
"I'd better act fast."
A blue orb emerges from Fbzib and floats above the keyhole. It morphs into the correct shape and activates the rectangle.
Three portal gateways activate, but two of them shut down from age.
The last gateway appears to lead somewhere on the island that Fbzib was on several hours ago.
"Uuugh... not there again. I h-"
Fbzib is interrupted by the noise of the door smashing down. Without thinking he leaps into the gateway as the abominations topple over the rectangle, closing it.


Fbzib ends up in the middle of a forest, next to a stream.

"Nice book."

Lun: "Hmm... Maybe it isn't a mere spirit like I presumed."

The vase finally shakes off the table, smashing against the ground. Black fog emerges from the pieces, revealing a black, demonic cloud with two glowing red eyes. It then flies out of the building, towards a survivor drinking the healing potion. As the thing flies into him, he suddenly doubles over in pain.

Roy runs out of the building to see this.
"Lun?! Can you find out what this thing is?"

"You think, old man?"

The vase finally shakes off the table, smashing against the ground. Black fog emerges from the pieces, revealing a black, demonic cloud with two glowing red eyes. It then flies out of the building, towards a survivor drinking the healing potion. As the thing flies into him, he suddenly doubles over in pain.

Roy runs out of the building to see this.
"Lun?! Can you find out what this thing is?"

Lun: "...That's some sort of demon or something along those lines! Do you think it could be a Homunculus from an alternate universe I visited, Roy?!"

Roy shakes his head. "No, Lun. There were only seven Homunculi in my world. Not a single one looked or sounded like that at any point."

The villager that was attacked suddenly rises up, then mutates. He hunches over as four red tentacles burrow out of his back, his blood turning into a black, vile liquid. His skin turns black, with wisps of darkness coming out of his body. His fingers turn to claws, his teeth turn razor sharp, and his voice becomes a screeching howl, before defaulting back to a raspy, yet pleasant tone.

"He's not wrong. Greetings and salutations. I'm Nightmare. And everyone else? About to experience their worst one yet."
