Do you want to?
Not really.  Probably got better things to do...
You should escape with us, then.
Not a bad option. The people that brought me here are insane, and who better to trust than yourself, eh?
...It's that easy?
Look, spider, when somebody drags you through a "dimensional barrier" and puts me in a world where I didn't exist before, you tend to be a little irate about it!I just went from a queen to a stranger!
Queen?
Crimson Queen, you're looking at her.
She does a little curtsy with the largest furs on her sides, in a mocking sort of way.
We'll dump exposition when we're out of here, alright? Follow me, I know where the traps are... Or well enough, at least!

True to your word, you maneuver around most of the traps easily. Your humanoid version seems rather well-balanced for all her heavy armor (glaring weakpoints aside), and uses her stick as a vaulting aid on two of the traps. The main trouble is getting Yunikki past them, considering her emotional state and posture. The chains don't help, either. You actually need to activate one of the traps to get past it as a result, but most of them aren't corridor-covering. "Crimson Queen" doesn't seem too willing to come near her, because she "doesn't trust nutjobs in the slightest". She was nice enough to apologize when you shot her a look, though you doubt the sincerity. She doesn't seem to take any of this very seriously. You give her a quick check of the soul, and you note that nothing seems off. A bright orange flame, although it looks a tiny bit different. Not the flame itself, but more the way it appears to you. Considering what you learned about souls, this is actually more of a cosmic accent. You could detect it in her speech if you were trained in it. As it stands, she just talks like you as far as you can notice.
Finally, you reach the final trap. You get the bolts ready, and throw the first one. You pretty much throw Yunikki through, although she didn't need the extra encouragement. Crimson sprints through with no issue, and you follow.
Unfortunately, it doesn't take long before the guards notice, and the first lazily aimed crossbow bolts begin to enter the ground around you.
Oh, I've been itching for a fight! your double yells, keeping her staff at the ready.
Of course, you doubt it'll be like this, just getting bolts rained down on you. Fortunately, there's only around four, and they all missed. Unfortunately, they're on top the walls.

Obviously, you don't have much issues with walls. You shoulder charge the first two, knocking one off the walls and the other one you run through with your stolen sword. The damn thing actually bends at a forty-five degree angle as you pierce your foe. And even worse, you feel a bolt pierce one of your legs! The other bolt sticks in the foe you currently still hold in front of you.
You'll never find a more grisly and unwieldy shield, but you use him as cover as you move closer to the two crossbowmen. As you come closer, rather slowly due to the weight of the corpse, you suddenly see one of the two sprout a bolt through his neck. You look down, and see your double make a quick two-finger gesture to claim responsibility. You throw the corpse aside after blocking another bolt with it. Now that he doesn't have a partner, it takes too long for the thrall to reload. When you get close, you use your momentum to grab him around the waist, lift him up and throw him off the walls with a roar of effort! He is sent tumbling down, and the thrall bounces like a ragdoll off the stone below! When you head down, you see that Yunikki and your double are hard at work fighting off more thralls. Yunikki's a dangerous foe against a single target, but she's clearly less effective against multiple opponents. Her chains do a fine job at blocking blows, at least.
Fortunately, your double picks up the slack, her staff giving her the range and speed needed to take on multiple foes. She blocks and attacks with the same movement, and actually manages to protect your shrieking and roaring companion in chains well enough.
GET MOVING! TO ME!

You don't have time to pull the gate open. You don't know where the mechanism is, nor do you think you'll have the time to operate it while under attack! So you improvise. You pick up Yunikki and carry her on the wall. Even without her armor, she is HEAVY. With your one wounded leg, you nearly fall off! You catch the edge with your hand, and thank your lucky stars Yunikki has enough presence of mind to grab on to you. You pull yourself up, scrabbling at walls, but you make it. Before leaving, you go back down to help out your double. She raises her stick, and you understand it well enough. You take a deep breath before holding on tight and letting her climb up before the thralls get to her. They're slowly starting to take out their crossbows, but you're over the edge and on the wall soon enough. Crouched down, they shouldn't be able to hit you straight away.
Freedom is but a descend down the walls away!
Suddenly, however, you hear a hoarse and familiar voice roaring from the courtyard.
NO! I WILL NOT LET YOU LEAVE!
You risk a quick peek down, and see the vampire.
He looks RAGGED. You can see his wounds from here, deep gouges in his flesh and eyes as black as coal staring into yours.

Get out here with Yunikki first!
You need to move, and you're not leaving your friend!

Get out of here with the Crimson Queen!
You'll resque Yunikki as soon as possible! Right now, you need to keep this asset out of his hands!

Come and get me, then.
It's you he wants. You'll start a run along the walls, and distract the enemy. Meanwhile, Yunikki and your twin will escape.

I'd consider asking for the polearm, but it isn't so great against a single foe, especially a fast, agile, and strong one. And remind Alexia not to eat vampire. She might be called any moment, and as much as he and we deserve vampire-snacky-time, it just isn't healthy. At the very least, no swallowing...
And check if there is any fire nearby.
And if he gets on our back again, we should find the nearest roof and stand on it, upside-down. Inversion can be very distracting, even more than it is for us.

If there is dead tissue still holding a crossbow we can make it shoot the vampire by surprise and get some distraction

If he is getting the best of us, before turning alexia BLUFF, hold he tight and say "Now I can test my fire spell" on his ear

Yo, parasite! Come and get me! You yell, before running away from your companions. They seem to understand it well enough as the vampire and his posse of thralls begin to chase you down. The vampire crawls up the walls in a short amount of time, while the thralls just kind of follow on the ground. They won't be a danger, at least. The angry undead lord behind you, on the other hand...
As stated many times, you are a speedy girl. Staying away from a humanoid target is generally not that troublesome. Assuming, of course, the undead target isn't filled with inhuman strength and speed. You barely manage to turn a corner before he jumps on your back. As practiced, you throw him over your shoulder again. He keeps on trying that, it won't work twice! He's quick to go back to attacking you, but now that you've fought him more than once, you can follow his movements. Perhaps the corruption is giving you an advantage, who knows. Either way, you manage to sock him on the nose when he attempts another attack. Reeling, he stumbles back, allowing you to punch him again! You rear back and yell as you put your might behind the punch!
He catches it. You don't have the strength in you to pull away!
Did you think, for even one MOMENT, that you could come CLOSE to my power?! He's screaming it out as he twists your hand.
That some UPSTART. he grabs your other arm with a vice-like grip.
FLEDGELING. he begins to twist your arm. In desperation, you start casting deathbolts, but he doesn't even flinch!
BITCH! He twists further, you begin to scream in pain.
Then. At long last, your arm has takes all it can take.

*Crick*
A quiet sound, but the explosion of pain is more then clear. Your right arm has been broken.
Would EVER topple me!? He twists even more! With another crunch, your forearm is bent at a horrible angle, and you can see the bone sticking through the meat as the pain begins to fade. You're...
The pain is too much, and you collapse. The vampire grabs you by the head before you faint, but you don't know what happens after that.

At the cost of yourself, you have allowed your friends to escape.
Level up

Pick one
Enhance Size: Become larger. Just, in general. With all the reach and strength that comes with it. This will take a while
Purge: Completely purge the Crimson Curse from your body. HOWEVER, this means you still have to deal with a weakened version of "ordinary" vampirism.
Spiked carapace: grow spikes over your body, allowing your carapace to serve as spiked knuckles, along with some other advantages.
Broodmother: It's finally here! You can create spiderlings from your stings, causing them to burst from the enemy!
Enhanced Stinger: You can drain your enemies using your stinger, and you can do it FAR faster. You can drain a human being dry in ten seconds!
Enhanced lethality: your poison is more lethal once more.
Unchained minion: Allows you to resurrect an undead minion at half cost, but you have NO control over it.
Magic punch: Allows you to enhance your fists with magic.
Replace: Your "stitch" is replaced with the Replace spell, allowing you to slap on some meat from somewhere to close a wound. The meat should be fresh.
Chosen Carrier.: The Tome of Eternal Darkness really likes you and allows you to use it as a storage. It allows you to carry whatever you like at no risk of losing it.
Soulsight+: Allows you to gauge the intentions of somebody with soulsight. This is not easy to read.
Pain resistance: Pain becomes less of an issue for you. Be careful, this might end bad.

Stats and status will be given next update.
As of tomorrow, I'm officially dealing with exams. Expect a more sporadic update schedule.

Broodmother once and for all?
soulsight+ seen nice too
Purge I simply don't know if it means reducing corruption
Chosen carrier means we got a hammerspace storage? We could easily abuse it hehehe

Just thinking, when our carapace gets BADLY damaged we can choose to increase our size, I am pretty sure we will have to let our old carapace behind again

Unchained minion is, I suspect, much better than it sounds. It probably doesn't count against our limit at a time. So it dort of turns us into a walking zombie-apoclypse. This owuld be really nice when trying to fight armies! Fighting armies is not a good plan. As nice as it is: rejected!

Enhanced Stinger is... We ate plenty of peopele with just our normal mouth, the fangs and pedipalps were excessive, we really don't need to spend an upgrade on a specialised eating-people organ. Unless Alexia is willing to bribe us...

Purge seems like too little too late. Unless it also reduces our normal vampirism to some extent. We had largely learned to live with The Crimson Curse and now it is greatly reduced.

Broodmother is our baby, figuratively!

Enhanced Size would be awkward, especially in a dungeon.

Magic Punch is probably somewhat redundant with Deathbolt. No doubt more efficient and faster, and might let us punch through metal bars or something if we find a way to overload it, but doesn't really feel like a big upgrade to fighting.

Ehh, okay, purpose: Kill Vampy.
Soulsight+ might help us read him, but takes too long to learn.
Spiked Carapace might help us deal with his tendency to climb all over us.
Broodmother would help as he doesn't seem suited to fighting swarms, but we would need to make a swarm and that takes time and opportunity. We haven't had much luck stinging vampy so far...
Chosen carrier might let us drop an anvil or oil on his head, but we might want to get rid of the book at some point. Also we don't know if cookbook wants to get stored in black-magic book... Just really cautious about taking a perk that requires an item that has a history of its owners going insane.

Escape:
Hammerspace is obviously a boon to escaping.
Magic punch 'might' go through walls if we don't mind inefficient mana use and cooking our hands.
Broodmother has a chance of giving us scouts, distractions, attacks that can go through narrow cracks in walls... Just needs a host is the only problem.
Unchained minion is literal riot if we can get enough dead thralls.
Soulsight+ would help reveal opportunities if we can learn it.

Endure: We hopefully just gave the resistance another capable agent and some information. Waiting could be the best plan...
Soulsight+: Vampy likes its games, knowing the type of game in advance would help thwart it.
Chosen Carrier: Keep our secrets and supplies.
Spiked Carapace. Perhaps our body should match our attitude...

I... Honestly an't choose right now between Broodmother, Soulsight+, and Chosen Carrier. Normally the bold option would win me over, but what if the book is the next villain... or decides to return to its people... Souldsight+ is such a boon to intrigue, and normally there is no defence against intrigue other than a lot of research into unreliable information. Broodmother is not only useful and versatile, but also a culmination of a long-term project(and thus permitted additional power) and a delight to see how Sydney and Alexia would react/modify it...

Imma come back later and maybe have a decision, or roll a die or something. Or not! Don't wait for me or anything!

Hesitantly thinking broodmother might be a good plan. Chosen carrier looks nice, but at this point I think Sydney is in a dangerous enough situation that it's probably worth pressing the instant power button. Would be nice to reap the benefits of the last few upgrades, too.

Broodmother selected.
Congratulations! You'll never have normal poison again.

...beating down my door! They took everything, alchemist, EVERYTHING! And your damned plan for a "great warrior"... would have been great if she ACTUALLY FOUGHT FOR US! She was the last one we had left! That damned thief took half my treasury, and ran for it!
Admittedly, what DID you expect?
People aren't supposed to betray me!  Some idiots have decided to gather up a damned army outside! I can't even leave my damned castle!
No need to worry, my lord. With her available like this, I'll take your land back with no issue.
You'd better!
Your vision finally clears again. You feel heavy, and in pain. Your legs feel like they're getting pulled by something. It wasn't a dangerous injury, but it hurts enough...

You are hanging from the ceiling, hooks have been rammed through the tip of each leg. You're partially numb to the pain, right now it's a dull and throbbing type. It's preferable, but not by much. The vampire is the first to notice.
Awake, are you? He comes up real close to you. Your human half is kept aloft by a few ropes, and is covered by a gown of sorts. You slowly note that there is a lot of tubing stuck into you.
What...
Yes. I have you now, and there is NOTHING you can do to get away! Look upon my work, ye mighty, and DESPAIR! He laughs to himself.
He's turned a little unhinged, hasn't he? You make use of the opportunity to spit on him. You feel faint, dizzy, and in pain. But honestly, that still felt good. You laugh as he shakes with anger, trying to ignore the burning feeling in your lungs. You note that your arm has been splinted, so it won't be falling off quite yet.
Well, as much as you're trying to make light of it, it's most likely it for you. Too much toying with something as powerful as this while you're hardly able to take a hit. You do wonder why they're keeping you alive for now, though.
Fine... I'll take your rebellion as some final flailing before you will pupate into my queen... Count your day, wretch. Once I know you can handle more of me,
I'll turn you. And the last bit...
It will be glorious. As we were meant to be. Connected on the deepest level both physically and spiritually.

You laugh again, a dry and humourless laugh.
Impressive wordplay. Almost makes you forget that you're going to rape me, huh. You laugh again, an almost hysterical edge to it. You're just... too tired to be anything else.
I will only take what is rightfully MINE!
God, you're like a child in every way...
He rears back for a punch, but stops at the last moment, taking a deep breath.
Try not to jostle her, lord. These tubes are delicate... With enough of her blood, I should have your army ready soon. If I may, I suggest you gather your first few thralls for the initial tests...
Nono! I need them on the walls... I'll bring in the dogs.
A bold choice. You realize that will embolden them?
Let them. I'll be leaving with my prize. Who needs this accursed bit of rock! Just make sure she's ready for transportation when you're finished.
He walks out of the room, his footsteps echoing through the hallway.

I must admit, you have been a true boon for me, drider. The amount of unusual properties in your blood... This will lead to a revolution when I find a way to reproduce it! Imagine, anything could carry the strength of a revenant when they take my compounds.
You hear a chair creak, and she stands under you. That's when you notice one vital thing they forgot.
Your abdomen can twist far. Very far, in fact. And she just stood under you to collect a bottle of your blood.
The hooks are digging into your body, your arm burns  and stabs, and you can't stop yourself from screaming from the effort. But you manage it.
You feel your payload leave your body, before unconsciousness takes you once more.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You are something else. Something new.

It's warm in here, comfortable. But I'm also very hungry. I think I see something small and blue next to me. They're cold, despite the warmth around us. I think I'll call it brother.
Maybe sister?
Would be nice.
I decided to start eating, a thin little bit was in the way of the food, but soon I found tough but delicious meat! It took a little nibbling, but I felt my teeth grow stronger until I finally managed to chew through! Then I noticed another thing, a little more chewy than the red, but even more tasty! I kept on nibbling and nibbling, until, suddenly, the warmth disappeared, and the world become impossibly large! I screeched for a bit, scared out of my wits, until I noticed that my meal was moving! Something pink and angular, she didn't look nearly as tasty on the outside. But I don't mind. Mama wouldn't make a mistake.
I soon saw my sister pop out as well, very close to me! But the meal tried to hit her! My sisters big though, bigger than her flapping meat, and sis is quick to nibble on the flap-meats connecty-thing! Blood comes spurting out, and that's when I realize I should help! I turn a bit, and chew on the stringiest piece of pink I ever did see. More blood! This is fun!
It wasn't nearly as fun anymore when the meal started running, though... Me and my sister fell off. It hurt a lot, but I don't think it would hurt for long.

The room is so large, and I see that something really big is above us! It smells like death. But it's still breathing. I know the shape, though.
It's mama! But why is she so tired? Why is she hanging like that?
It doesn't look like she likes it...

Look around this world.
How would I get to mama? I gotta protect mama.

Sister!
My sister's probably the coolest!

Glowy....
There's glowy things on that table-thing there. They look really fun.
