I did a bunch of master quests to level up, punched the two great apes to death, and unlocked QQ bangs. Looks like it can be very powerful and expensive... I bought 2 Gohan's cloths and used an uncommon Hercule's badge and got a +max basic attack with -2 health and -1 ki super.

Man... What a disappointment with the extra secret story.

Everything kind of feels like a disappointment with the story. Maybe it's just because I played DBZXV1 but everything feels so....superficial? Like, the most effort put toward a scene that I've witnessed is Beerus get mad at the Supreme Kai's pudding. Maybe it's because there's so many in-engine mini cutscenes that they all feel wooden and lifeless, which in turn makes the voice overs sound even more ridiculous. I'm not in this for the story but I'd count the number of enjoyable moments from it on one hand.

Let's be real here, pretty much no one plays a DBZ game for the story.

I worry that I may have already peaked on this. (To be fair at like 40 hours.) Level cap of 80 reached, sad face. Just have like 10 or 15% of Time Patrols to go. A good chunk of masters yet to train under. Haven't done any PQs yet as I'm waiting to do them with friends and family. And the Raids which, I dunno, guess I'll have to find public games for.

But some of the "found PQ" missions are just as ball breakingly hard as the last game and with no stats to gain, I only have QQ Bangs and new moves to essentially improve. One mission is trying to keep Jaco alive while grade A asshole AI keeps you tied up in fight after fight after fight. Failed it a couple times and am a little discouraged.

So I dunno, may have just burned out a little too much this weekend. But the game went from feeling pretty vast to, well, less.

So it's like XV1 then... the last DLCs added some missions that just aren't realistic for solo. You can beat them, but not within that time limit.

Did several raid missions tonight. On their own they're not super difficult and you can probably solo the first one or two. The next couple though have mechanics where you want at least one other person.

In truth the hardest parts about them are that they routinely bug out about 50% of the time in various ways, and since you can't quit out of multiplayer games in any way what so ever, you just have to crash the game manually.

Welcome to AAA gaming, I guess.

Well honestly... I felt the first game's story was on the right track.

And heck the idea of using the movie villains as the pawns in the villain's machinations was genius! But they didn't really do anything with it and REALLY didn't give a lot of them their just credit.

In fact... I actually question whether or not Towa actually can power people up in the sequel... In fact it sometimes feels like she makes them weaker.

So yeah
Frieza/Cooler tag team kicked my ass up one side of Namek and down the other.

Already in the "God" tier of the school at level 35 but holy shit that was ridonculous.
Not only are they super tough, but the AI seems to have graduated finally and realized "oh maybe I should actually fight instead of sitting around looking stupid"

Also kinda sucks that the "God" tier didn't unlock any new instructors.
I'll probably have to use PQs to level up now.

Yeah, I was disappointed that the Tier ended at God. Cause man, there's like half the game to play past that point.

The game has a weird balance. It feels like you are meant to do the entire story in one go, ignoring PQs and instructors.

Yet they flood you with them to the extent that if you dive into it, you will be overleveled or even max level waaay before the game ends.

Yeah, I tend to do each little bit before moving on to story missions. Bethesda games trained me so. And now I have half the trainers yet to be revealed and I'm completely maxed out.

It's too bad they didn't figure out a way to do 'unlimited' levels. Chasing the dragon of that next level up seems like it'd fit with DBZ's overall mentality.

Maybe for XV3 they could take a page from Disgaea's book; absurdly high level caps with stats to match, so that a high-level character really will be godlike in comparison to a level 1 scrub.
