The fireworks did, in fact, attract attention, but of the absolute worst kind. It wasn't police, or criminals out to take advantage of someone with the excess of money and the lack of common sense that resulted in lighting fireworks off in the middle of the night, but something far worse. The rust-orange creature bellowed, and beneath that bellow two shouts of a more human nature sounded, both of desperation. There was a flash, a figure dropping down from the sky, the sound of steel ringing in the air, and a terrible, sickly crunch that followed, as the monster ended up on its side along one edge of the road, coming to rest against a parked car with a gash across a large portion of its face. Two other figures lay in the street; one armored, on its side and coming to its feet, and another sprawled flat on its back, smaller and unmoving.
"Get the hell out of here while you can! What are you all doing!?" The voice, ringing out from the taller person in the dark, sounded familiar. Was that... Takeshi? What was he doing here, and why was he wearing armor and holding an improbably long sword? "And call a goddamn ambulance already!" The gathering would have noticed one figure missing from their midst - Enzo. Tsukiko remembered that he was one of the people that shouted just before impact.
Erina and Yuko also heard another voice, this one rather lower to the ground. Feline eyes glinted in the darkness with an all too human intelligence as a calm voice spoke. "You should do as Takeshi says. One of you, anyway; the other, I need to speak with, and quickly. We haven't much time."
