Name of Nation: Remilian Republic

History of the Government: Remilian Republic has its origins in the old noble house of Tarin, from the world of Remilius. Their supreme rule of the planet and ever extending reach to neighbouring worlds brought them great power and wealth,  but at a cost of satisfaction of its population. Last of Tarin lords, whose name is abhorred in the Republic has committed the worst excesses of all before him, with depravity spilling from the palace to the streets. Subsequent invasions and losses of some worlds broke the final straw and forced the remaining nobility to cast off the rule of the last Tarin and institution of a Republic, with an aristocratic Senate. The aristocrats had to bear quite a lot of burden throughout the early years, when the fearful populace forced them to adopt more democratic model. In the early wars of the Republic, when pirate and slaver incursions have threatened to strip Remilia of its outlying colonies, Republic-wide conscription and the subsequent culture of civic duty were forged. More recently, commerce and industry became increasingly important, which gave rise to the culture of civic foundations, which became an expression of one's wealth for political and public reasons.

Description and Culture: Culture revolves around land ownership and civil engineering, with heavy elements of civic and social engagement by the middle classes and higher, reinforcing the spirit of superiority and republicanism. Its not uncommon for groups of citizens to fund public buildings through various societies and funds and to gather public support during elections. Military service forms the second pillar of civic culture, strengthening and safeguarding the Republic against potential tyrants. Or so goes the tradition, which serves to support conscription in necessary times. At the same time, military service became a rite of passage and a necessary step in a political career.
Blood sports are quite popular too, which are televised affairs of men fighting with both beast and alien in mock battles and hunting grounds, as well as more spectacle-like arena fights. Whole championships and various leagues and teams are arranged, with non-lethal combat for human opponents and live ammo-weapons for fights with aliens and beasts. While gathering an outcry of civil and human rights protesters, the blood sports are a giant, multi-billion entertainment enjoyed throughout the Republic and are broadcast beyond its borders.

patience. The game will propably not start before tuesday. The thing is i still need to set up the map, initial alliances, NPC Nations, with some of you im still not through the nation gen...so yeah, this is gonna take a few days more.
