looking at egyptian art, I find it very difficult to figure out exactly how certain articles of clothing were supposed to look when translated onto a 3d form.

well, i don't think the designers will care about their fashion sense, considering they have been irrevocably dead for the last few millenia

It should be pretty fun though.

Yeah, but fashion is notoriously cyclical. Some day soon we will also be wearing honey coated meringue nests on the top of our heads.

I'd be wearing one right now if it weren't for the fact that the meringue and honey would probably leak into my hair, and that would make a horrid tangled mess.  :o

I'm talking about the bronze colossus. It's supposed to be made entirely of bronze.
But really he's just a softie inside. They all are really. When megabeasts come to your fort you never welcome them inside and give them a hug, do you. You heartless bastards...

Egyptians are my second favorite mythology. Norse first. Celtic Third. Greek/Roman thriple digits down the list. Those guys could be right bastards. The Norse at least say dying in battle means you get to fight, get drunk and eat from an ever replenishing pigs.

I like Christian and Islamic mythology myself. SO GRIMDARK.

Also like how in the 14th Century the Devil went from being a credible threat to being the kind of guy who gets duped by farmers literally 24/7.

Actually, the "devil" appeared after christian values and ideas were introduced. Before that the horned head would depict a male power and fertility and pentagram was a protective sign. It was a clever move to call these objects "demonic" and pagan priests "heretics" and "satanists" to fight paganism. And after the paganism threat became smaller, it's obvious that the "devil" became too weak to be considered dangerous.

Also I laugh at current "satanists" which praise the "devil" ("satan") and pentagram en masse while most of them don't know (or don't want to know) the true meaning of these symbols.

Poor? Nah, not poor and not fools. It's a good working system and it works even now. And it nets a good amount of money and respect, so the people who started it were really clever and they knew what they were doing. They've managed to control wars and politics and unite huge amounts of people, I'd say it's almost perfect ruling system, at least they have something to protect their point.

Go on and draw something already, or this thread is going to be derailed big time. I am currently working on a big picture (and I am not sure that I'll be able to make it right) so I am out of business for some time.
