You give order to march out eastwards to secure the border and mayhaps finally finish this campaign once and for all!

Several days later, when the army under your leadership is mid-way to the border outposts, you're given a report that mentions a large Parsian army moving from northeast. It consists of strong core formed by Parsian Cataphracts, numerous spearmen units on both flanks, with a long line of archers stretching behind this army. Large amount of supply wagons was spotted as well.

If numbers are to be believed, the Parsians have between one and half, to twice the numerical advantage over your forces, which means you could be soon facing up to 7000 Parsians.

A) Retreat! Retreat! We will hole up in Abur Fortress for another season or two, if need be!
B) We make our stand here! Our forces will take best terrain and prepare for battle!

You order the army to return to Abur.

There are some grumbling voices, aaaand maybe just few notions of having 'cowardly King', but nothing major comes out of this.

Within five days, the Army is back at the Abur fortress. Scouts report that the northern army, the smaller one, that was camping out after the prior battle, has now moved eastwards, boosting the number of the one advancing from northeast.

Next morning, the advancing/pursuing Parsians arrive as well. They take half-encircling positions from north through east to south, albeit sentries on the towers report seeing riders all over the fortress' vicinity.

And then, there's nothing. Morning moves to afternoon, afternoon into evening. As the sun finally sets behind the hilly horizon, a lone Cataphract approaches the gates of the Fortress.

A) Let him in, as it seems to be a messenger of sorts.
B) Have archers shoot some arrows near him to clearly state our intent!

A, but make sure the rider is thoroughly checked, we don't want an assassination to happen.

The lone cataphract is let into the fortress.

He asks for you, as he has a message to deliver.

"To the King of Luathbas, who continues to be a painful thorn in our foot! Come forth to the camp of Grand Lord Tata, as he wishes to negotiate with you. Refuse, and there will be bloodshed that shall end in your ignoble defeat!" The military commanders believe that Abur Fortress can get through another siege just as it did last season, and therefore there is no need to negotiate yet. Ultimately, however, the response is in your hands.

A) Accept the invitation to talks and go to the enemy camp with mandatory bodyguard detail.
B) Refuse the invitation! There shall be no talks!

B.

If there are to be any negotiations, they are to come to us, not the other way around.

Changing to A.  I want to see what they have to offer.

The past choice was an unfortunate tie but Haspen didn't see the 'A' from someone. This is a reiteration of it as far as I see, but worded more assertively. :P Because ugh, it'd be annoying if this had worse consequences. But I guess that's what happens when we anger the locals.

A because we can assert our charisma.

We're only limited to the choices sadly. :< If we 'refuse', it'll just mean 'send them away, no talks :I'

Also we need to get home so we can deal with dynamic choices. More war for later when we stabilize our stuff. :3

B.

If they really want to talk, they'd offer a better deal than that.

To be fair, we've invaded THEIR land during a time of their civil war. We're the invaders against a (justfully) spiteful people, and...we haven't even had the choice of sending envoys ourselves. :P I mean we did earlier but that tie didn't help (and people wanted war) >_<
Prolonging the siege only hurts everyone involved, and Parsia pretty much REALLY wants their lands back. If we refuse, we'll just close any and all further doors--we've 'technically' refused them once already.
