He starts to tell you of the soil and the rocks and the visible layers and the presence of gold plus few other but less important ores, the latter in miniscule quantities.

Then you reply that these minerals never appear with the gold and the gold itself rarely if ever appears amongs the types of rocks the young prospector described.

The charlatain begs for mercy but your royal guards drag him to the dungeon without delay.

You do ask the advisor to send some trusted miners to see if maybe, just maybe, there is some gold in Duaz hills after all.

Duke of Fukas arrives to ask you to help solve a dispute between him and a land-owner from the neighbouring kingdom, as they cannot find a compromise about the ownership of Gyddalleach Glade, prized for having rare herbs and mushrooms growing within it.

After the foreign noble arrives, you mediate the dispute between the two. The audience takes quite long and extends into late evening before both sides leave, somewhat satisfied with the consensus that you managed to produce.

The miners sent to Duaz hills come back bringing gold! The amount is only meager, though, and can possibly provide some revenue for a year or two tops. A small mining operation is therefore started in the hills.

After the harvest, this extremely uneventful year is drawing to a close. The crops provided much sustenance, and the population will surely increase next year.

Some city mayors believe that it would be a good thing to thank the gods of harvest for this boon with a grandiose Festival, although the trade advisor believes that our economy isn't in good enough shape to host such lavish things.

Kingdom of Lametania invades from the south! Their king provides a claim for the southern forests and surrounding villages because it was once part of Lametania

The Army is currently making sure that the Lametanians do not get past the claimed lands, while the advisor and councilmembers convene with you. After a while, it is agreed that we should:

A) Send a letter to King of Lametania and propose to solve this via negotiations.
B) Order the army to move in and take back the Luathbas' southern territories by force.
C) Bribe Lametanian generals and nobles involved in the campaign so they turn against their King's orders.
D) Send a letter to King of Lametania demanding detailed legal proof for his nation's claims.

The army is ordered to counter-attack and reclaim the southern territories. Hopefully they can fight against foreign armies just as good as they fight against bandits.

The army stages a two-pronged assault against the main Lametanian army encampment. In the battle that lasts whole day, the soldiers of Luathbas annihilate the enemy forces and kick them back from where they came! The province is secured within few weeks, and the news of your victory spread about the region, and rumors say it made the Lametanian nobles very unhappy.

The King of Lametania vows that you will pay for this and the southern Luathbas will be Lametanian again!

804 AD, Mid-Spring

Your wife gives birth to your second son, Óidach.

804 AD, Late Spring

You receive news that King of Lametania got killed by bandits when inspecting lands of some relative of his. Oh well, accidents happen.

804 AD, Summer

A popular military commander of your Army arrives at the court.

"Sire, your army demands more men! We did have numerous victories under your enlightened rule, but we didn't achieve the victories without losing a single soldier, after all!"
