Since we have harsh realities, would it be reasonable to have the Lidsmen do some work in helping to build the settlement?  I am thinking simple labor at a much slower rate then thralls, fishing, hunting, scouting and the like.

Turn update isn't in just yet. I'm pretty sure we're managing the entire settlement so we've got more manpower for building than that.

It has taken a few weeks but you are all set up. a Veritable tent city has spread around here and people are fishing and hunting so far. No one has gone too far from the camp yet so maybe its time to explore?

Are we choosing as many as we wish/can afford, or one from each category?  The layout of the post felt a bit iffy.  If one from each category, the top of each of mine will be my priority.

We do need to note that we are the only blacksmith. It'll be best for us to stay at the settlement for the time being until we get another blacksmith or two. Hunting isn't going to be too valuable on a large scale unless we know what beasts make for good hunting (Without needlessly killing off our hunters.) And getting a source of iron is a priority since we'll need it for tools and weapons. We should also get around to training the leidangr when we've got the resources for it.

Our current military forces are more than adequate enough for basic defence. What we need to know is if there are any nearby potential enemies before said potential enemies stumble upon us.

Houses will need to be built. They serve as protection from the weather - vital for surviving winter or if we suddenly get hit by a storm - and it'll start an economy sooner as people won't be so busy building their own houses. We only have food for a year so we need to get some food immediately or we'll start starving the next turn.

Research
Iron
Foreign Plants

We picked Blacksmith, but that option is practically useless until we get some iron to actually do stuff with. Studying the local flora will tell us what's edible and what's super-extremely poisonous. Our people don't need to do research to tell whether an animal is edible or not, so the hunting action should go fine.

Personal
Marriage
Go Hunting

The sooner we marry the better and securing enough food to not start starving next year is worth going hunting ourselves.

Since everybody's making their own suggestions, I'm change mine to +1 this, very similar priorities.
