Hmmm, we could instead recruit those civilian designers before or after the contest, though that whole deal about pay rates and etc might not be enough to seduce them from the private sector. Or it might be.

We have 1 basic firearms, 2 talented basic firearms, and 1 amazingly talented but untrained firearms personnel. They might be able to work it out in a turn + refinement. Or not.

Edit: So we have a training program. Or will. Probably. That's probably going to encourage a few hopefuls to come and learn.

Looking over it, did we ever define what exactly the training program is? Is it a building or a teaching plan or? I'm getting flashbacks to the first attempt at infantry equipment.

On that topic though, are we able to design new military doctrine, or is that outside our scope a bit?

For your own sake grab a copy of notepad ++, it's a much better editor, it has tabs, a spell checkers and all sorts of Features.
And it's free(as in "free speech" and also as in "free beer")

Notepad++ is what I use, and there is nothing better for Windows (or any other operating system, but sadly np++ is windows only).

Spell check is a life saver :)

I got into the habit of pressing Ctrl+s every time I finish a paragraph or block of code a long time ago, by now it is so much of a habit that I find myself doing it in the web browser (where it obviously gets in the way...).

Flamethrowers, good idea or bad idea?

Follow up, giant boat mounted flame throwers?

A great idea.
We should go for a single use flame thrower, something powered by a small air tank.
It needs to be light and small so it's easy carry and cheap so we can have alot of them.

Also because I've forgotten for the 10th time, here's  pykrete. It's basically ice as hard as steel that doesn't really melt. It could be useful as an export or as an additional resource, though we'd need to use a fair amount of steel to set up the refrigeration needed to manufacture it.
