SECOND ERA
Main Turn 2: The 2nd Awakening of the Gods"WAKE UP. CHILDREN OF THE PROTEARCHS."As the familiar voice of Ame resonated in the mind of all gods, they woke up at the same time.
There was something different in them. They felt stronger. They also felt more aware, like if another set of eye opened.
All of them somehow knew all of the changes that occurred during their slumber.
They also all became aware of the shape of the world. A titanic hollow spheric cavity with the Sun-Moon at its center.
The place they settled and modified was but a colorful spot in the greater vision they all had. Also, the World seemed a bit less plain than before.
When they slept it seems the World changed by itself, with mountains, seas, crevices and many more landscapes appearing in the lands devoid of life.
Finally Ame announced :
"The time of awakening has come. And with this second awakening, the preparations have been completed. You may not have realized, but the two times when you slept, I fed my Ether to you, allowing your form to mature.
Yes. Ether will allow you to grow even more.
I watched over you twice, and now, it will be your turn to watch over me. Having spent all of my Ether, I feel so...tired.
It is time for me to sleep for a while."With that being said, Ame sat as if meditating on the blazing Sun/Moon, and fell asleep, engulfed by the divine flames.
Newfound knowledge appears in your mind.[By consuming half of your Ether Capacity, you will "gain a level", increasing your Energy/Ether limits, and your Energy/Ether recovery. Furthermore your maximum size will also increase, and some powers/perks may or may not be unlocked depending on GM mood.]

-Plated Aggressive Land Vegetarian [1]-1+1 > Extinct
-Smart Land Hunter [5]-1
-Small Random Animals [4]-1
First thing you all notice is that the land is as green as ever. It didn't change much in a way, so you feel relieved.
But upon examining closer the various species of the land, you notice the Plated Aggressive Land Vegetarian completely disappeared. It must have went extinct during the Timeskip, probably because of its size and the fierceness of the predators.
Instead, small animals survived pretty well. The Smart Land Hunters are thriving really well, despite the mass extinction that went on because of Gasnareth Imrep.
As for the Airborne Hunter... the first thing everyone notice is that they live in wooden structures at the top of the trees, and that they wear clothes. Clothes. It dawns upon you : the Airborne Hunters attained sapience by themselves while you were gone, and they formed an incredible society. They rule unmatched over the forests.
> Interference roll : [6] > [4]
Furthermore, the memory of the one that helped them hunt for fish when they were still animals stayed in their blood. When the eyes of their mind woke up for the first time, they remembered him, and honored him.
The Earth Golem, for without his help they may wouldn't be there now.
New Sapient Species : Skyborns
Sea-based :
-Aquatic Plants [5]
> Bonus roll : [3]
-Symb. Lum. Creature [1]+1
-Leviathan [2]-1+1
-Ocean Hunter [3]-1
As for the blue sea, it is still brimming with aquatic plants. There are many new and colorful species.
As for the species, all species ended up evening out.
Symbiotic Luminescent Creatures, Leviathan and Ocean Hunters form a stable balance of life and death. The Luminescents feed thanks to the Plants, the Leviathans hunt the Luminescents and eat the Plants, while the Ocean Hunters stand at the top of the food chain.
Warm Sea-based :
-Glowdust : [1] > [1] Extinct
-Dustkelp : [6] > [5]
> Bonus roll : [5] Hive-Mind Intelligence acquired
-Platefish : [2]
-Pearlworms : [6] > [6]
> Bonus roll : [2] Small Intelligence acquired
In the Warm Sea, the situation is basically the same. The only difference is that Glowdust completely disappeared, resulting in a less golden sea than before.
Dustkelp quickly adapted when Glowdust population declined, and now pave the bottom of the Warm Sea. With time, Dustkelp developed a Hive-mind intelligence : large gathering of Dustkelp would work like the neurons of a brain, forming a larger and stronger organism.
As for Platefish, they had a hard time with the ever-ravenous Pearlworms and the adaptability of Dustkelp. It is still here, but in scarce numbers.
The Pearlworms still reign supreme in the Warm Sea. They ended up all becoming omnivorous but with a predatory preference. They are also smarter than before.
Black Desert-based :
-Dark Fungivore [5]
> Bonus roll : [4] Power over Darkness + Good Intelligence acquired
-Darkshrooms [5]
> Bonus roll : [2] Many Variant appearance : Tall, small, moss-like...
In the Black Desert, life was simple. Either you were a Darkshroom and ended up eaten by Dark Fungivore, or you were the latter and ate Darkshrooms.
At first the life in the Black Desert was simple and repetitive. But slowly it changed, with Darkshrooms evolving into many variants, and Dark Fungivore acquiring "darkness powers". Furthermore, they are far smarter than before.

War roll : [2]
Humanity still stood strong after so many time. They left the forest territories to the Skyborns, instead colonizing the vast plains and lands close to the rich sea.
Surprisingly, their Barter Economy survived, working on a value system inspired by what they learnt of Currency long time ago.
Goldenbough is no longer seen as a bad omen. This old superstition waned long ago.
You can distinguish three main human countries. The one that once was the Tribe of the "Whole" now became a thriving and large country of peace and knowledge. Thanks to their agricultural knowledge imparted by Lux, they developed quickly and became a model of wealth.
The Nomad Tribe still exists, now having left their nomadic ways to settle in the plains. They tamed the Smart Land Animal, who became their pet companion.
The Builder Tribe still exists and expanded more near the mountains, where they could find rich minerals and resources for building.
The Second Tribe, whose name was lost in history, was the only tribe to disappear. History reveals it was because of a religious schism, called the Truth Incident.
Humans have known nearly no conflict amongst themselves, valuing cooperation and peace.
As for technology, the knowledge imparted to them in ancient times drove them forward and turned them into a people deeply interested by science and technological advancement.
Religion rolls :
> Knowledge of the Gods [4]
> Temple of Knowledge [1] > [3]
> Ancient : Fading memory (no shrine) [4]
>> "Lo Faraan ?" (Vorenaak) [4]
>> Saraab is the "Big Good" for all tribes [2]
>> Tribe2: Standard Pantheon followers + (Peace+/War-) [5]
>> Tribe2: Truth followers - (Peace-/War+) [5]
>> Tribe3: Respect Lux [5]
Memory of Gods :
>> HWFTTDALODWSTBBAE (Glyph Teaching/Cycle Philosoph) [5]
>> Fredegar (Beard) [4]
>> Gasnareth (Monument/false belief) [2]
>> Proelior [2]
Gods and religion weren't forgotten. Though the Temple of Knowledge was, and it even got destroyed some time ago.
The Ancient was forgotten, none remember him anymore.
Lo Faraan, the deity that introduced currency ended up joining the standard pantheon after much theological debates.
Saraab isn't the "Big Good" anymore. It is on the same rank as the other gods.
Except for Lux, who became the most respected deity as a result of the Tribe of the "Whole" dominance.
As for the other gods, Gasnareth and Proelior were only reminded in myths, but were never revered. He Who Flies Through The Darkness, Aloft On Dragon's Wings, Seeking To Bring Beginnings And Ends became a major god, with its philosophy living still today with force. Fredegar also became a major deity, after his two messiahs Uji and Beardladdin left their mark in history.
After the Truth Incident, the Second Tribe collapsed, and its tribesmen fled to the other tribes.
Now, their legacy still exists in the form of the "Truth Religion", a separate religion from the main one of the Pantheon. And as humans were peaceful, they never tried to exterminate the Truth Religion believers.

At first Night Stalkers were but a rumor close to a scary fairy tale. But soon Night Stalkers existence was proven, and they became the first true enemies of Humanity. Hunting them relentlessly, humans nearly drove Night Stalkers to extinction. To this day, Humans still hate Night Stalkers, despite one sighting is an extremely rare occurrence.
Soon after their first meeting with the Frells, the Humans re-encountered them. Both sides expressing their wish for peace, the two people quickly became allies and trade partners. Nowadays, Frells and Humans live in harmony.
When the Dryads first arrived in human lands, they inspired fear and terror into humans, who chased them away from their lands. But Dryads required human males to reproduce. As such, they had to abduct humans to survive, which worsened their political relationships. To this day, both sides hate each other very much.
Amazons maintained good relationships with humans, helping them when strength was needed. They melded well in human society, but still lived separately and reclusively in the forest. They would be on better terms if not for the Night Stalker genocide of before.
As the natural enemies of humans since time immemorial, when the first Skyborn tribe appeared, it was met with scorn and hostility. Fighting for control over the forest, the Skyborns eventually won, driving humans away from forests and asserting their dominance. Then over time, as the two people were separated, they learnt to respect each other and eventually became great allies.
They were also in great terms with Troongs. Not surprising coming from the enigmatic and peaceful Troongs. They often cooperated together to build great projects.

In their first years of expansion, the Night Stalkers thrived and reproduced using the many sapient beings of the land. But their aggressive expansion was the cause of their doom, as they garnered the hatred of many neighboring people.
Then Humans, Frells and Skyborns formed a great alliance to eradicate Night Stalkers. In the span of less than a year, nearly every Night Stalkers settlements were destroyed, and they were driven to extinction.
As a result, Night Stalkers never developed any particular technology. They still live extremely crudely, with primitive tools.
Now, despite having once been a very complex united society, they only subsist as small gathering of individuals. They have no economy, but still worship their one and only god ardently : Vorenaak.
Relationship Rolls :
> Humans [2] (see Humans)

> Amazons [5]
> Skyborns [1]

Night Stalkers were on great terms with Amazons for some reason. No one really knew why, but they must have respected them for their strength.
They also were on great terms with Dryads as the two had to subsist in the same way, dependent on other species.
But with Frells, Humans and Skyborns, it was the opposite. While Frells initially didn't mind them, it quickly turned for the worse when Night Stalkers abducted Frells. As such, the three species formed a great alliance to destroy the Night Stalkers. This was known as the Night Stalker Genocide.
Troongs didn't mind them either. But well, we are speaking about Troongs.

No one knew what happened to the Luxlings, but they all suddenly disappeared from the face of the world.
Some says they were too arrogant and were punished by gods, while other simply speculate their bodies were too weak for the savage times of yore.
Everything about them was forgotten, except for their single advanced society, which could be reconstructed through archeological researches. Their technology for their time was exceptional.

The first times were difficult for the Dryads. Becoming enemies with the humans brought upon them the hostility of Frells and Amazons. They would have gone extinct if not for the appearance of the Skyborns, who had different morals from the other people.
The Skyborns cooperated with Dryads, and eventually Dryads were invited in Skyborns territories.
The Dryad are known for having the most sophisticated united civilization of all known people. Their Economy, Society and Religion were a model for all people, even the ones that scorned them.
Masters in all kind of Arts, they were also philosophers and great thinkers. They revered Saraab above all else, and spread his name everywhere. They had a great understanding of trade and finance.
And unsurprisingly, they are the most technologically advanced people.

Amazons were a rather normal people when you compared them to the noble Dryads or the numerous Humans. They had a spartan like society, forming a strong military power early. As such, they were some kind of mercenary race, often hired by the others. They live in many scattered tribes.
As of yet, they remain the most technologically advanced when it comes to weapons.
Night Stalkers and them respected each others. Frells saw Amazons as a strong people, and often hired them. Humans lived in harmony with Amazons, as did Skyborns.
They were only hostile toward Dryads, because of their acts against humanity early on. They were also their main competitors as a female species needing males from others, as such, hostility was to be expected.

Arradian Beetles. Another rumored people that seemingly disappeared at some unknown point in time.
They were the last people discovered, and only ruins of great Hives were found. Some speculated the great Arradian Empire collapsed because of internal strife, but no one will really know.
All that is know is that they had an extremely advanced civilization, and they would have been the rulers of the world if they hadn't gone extinct. They had a unique Hive-mind society according to research, which made them act and move as one united people, further explaining their great technological and political advancements.
Each Hive was a country in its own and held its own morals and principles. Despite that, the whole race stayed united for eons. It seems the rise of a dangerous and ambitious Arradian King was the first gear triggering their fall.
They also revered an unknown god. The Ancestor. Theologists and Archeologists alike are fascinated by this strange god.

Frells thrived greatly, taking advantage of the vast and fertile Silt Plains. They quickly became known as a people of traders and farmers, with their economy based on the Goldenboughs.
But the reliance on Goldenboughs caused a great economical crash for the Frells, as no other species used Goldenboughs and they suddenly suffered a Goldenbough shortage. As such, they suffered from a dark period of poverty and political weakness, until they suddenly managed to get back on their feet.
Having learnt from their mistakes, they are know a strong economical power. Technologically wise though, they are less advanced than other races.
Frells are specials in that they have no religion. Their history books tell of an event where a deity tried to lie to a group of Frell Heroes so that they would fight humans. But they managed to see through the lie and were saved by another god from the wrath of "Lo Faraan". They thus decided that their would be no god to choose their fate for them, and built a religion-less society.
Their exist many Frell different countries in the Silt Plains, a map of the Plains look like a huge puzzle.
Frells are in good terms with every species bar Dryads, Skyborns and Night Stalkers. They don't like Dryads because of the abductions of before, and they don't see Skyborns with a good eye since they were indirectly the cause of the Goldenbough crash. As Skyborns controlled the forest and the Goldenbough resources, they involuntarily caused the drop of the Goldenbough.

Troongs were and are an enigmatic people. Peaceful and driven by a strange need of building bridges, they were never seen in a bad light by other peoples. For some reason, the Troongs expanded explosively after a strange event, recorded in their archives as "the Enlightening". Something happened and opened their eyes according to the vague clues other people gathered.
Since then, they have been known to claim their people had seen the truth of the world. And that all their actions were only a preparation for the great forthcoming. They have a very advanced technology despite being a nomadic people, further adding to their enigmatic status.
As a wandering people, they have no country of their own and instead live in huge nomadic groups.
Traveling the world to build bridges, they formed good relationships with every people. Now, they are a people of traders, but are a bit criticized for being zealous when it comes to religion.
They revere with huge fervor Saraab for giving them the gift of Knowledge, and Vorenaak for the gift of Truth.

As a people, the Skyborns are united as one great nation. And as the youngest sapient species of the world, they are less technologically advanced than most others.
Despite their young age, they managed to quickly find their place. Initially they were economically in difficulty as they lacked means to exploit their own resources. But the collapse of the Goldenbough system somehow allowed them to become a pivot point for trade, and their economy bloomed.
In present times, they are a force to be reckoned with.

The Pelagics. A strange species, that was forgotten for a long time, except by the Troongs. As they reproduced and their population grew in the sea and the rivers, they began to suffer from overpopulation.
At first, they fought with the Troongs for control over rivers. But the Troongs weren't warlike and had a greater purpose than just creating a country, so they gave the rivers to the Pelagics. Since then, Troongs and Pelagics have seen each other in a good light.
Isolated from other civilizations, the Pelagics discovered many technological innovations. They have no religion, having been forgotten by the gods according to them.
They live in a rather cohesive empire, but they don't trade much with other species.
As for relationships, they are hostile to Skyborns and Dryads, because Pelagics tried to invade their lands long time ago.

The Black Palace is still standing ominously above the Black Desert. Those who dared explore it never returned, struck down by its immortal guardians.
