Approach the village and enter one of the buildings.

You cautiously approach the village intending to enter one of buildings. You see a small wooden sign with "Denisovichi village" written on it.

[3] You look at the buildings, most of them were old, wood cottages with an exception of a ruined brick house looking like it was never finished. Some of these buildings could fall on your head, but you couldn't tell which ones. Entering one of cottages you see that it was emptied and cleaned just recently. Someone was here not long ago.

[6] You've heard a silent murmur, in the corner of your eye you could see a distorted, humanoid shadow.

I Close the hatch and hope what ever is starring at me is down there and "Friendly".

A cold chill runs up your spine, the stare is horrifying and you realise that it can't have any good intentions.

[1] You slowly move your hands towards the hatch and try to close it, but it won't budge! As you shake it desperately, you hear something slowly going up wooden stairs, breathing heavily. It's getting closer and closer, with one hand you're trying to move that damned hatch, while grabbing your hunting knife with the other.

[4] Loud crack - a plank in the stairs have probably broken. The thing emits a surprised sound and falls down the cellar with loud wail. You try to close the hatch again, and surprisingly rusty hinge allows it to move this time. You quickly rush to other rooms and block the hatch with all the furniture you found.

[2] You stop for a moment to observe your surroundings. To the left you can see a small lake, there's a river further. On the right there are dense woods and to your back you see a meadow where a bird died in an anomaly. There must be a better way to get deeper within the Zone, but you can't see any other path than through forest or anomaly field.

Wander out of the deep woods still alive and in possession of some throwing weapons and some leafy camouflage and some edible berries.

[5] You try to listen your intuition again and this time it actually leads you to a hill where you found an artifact. What's more, this time you recalled the way you came into the Zone! But before meeting your boss, you decided to find some berries and make yourself a leafy camouflage.

[3] You do notice some small broad-leaved bushed, but they won't be enough to make a proper camouflage. At least you've managed to find some berries!

[5] The berry bush has oval leaves, with slightly wavy margin. There are white flowers growing on it. The berries are red and quite big. You know that it's a cowberry, and there are lots of berries on the bushes! The only thing bothering you, it's that they ripen from late summer to autumn... It's a bit too early for it to have fruits, but it seems that there's nothing wrong with them. You take some berries and hid them in pockets of your rags.

[2] You don't see any other way to enter the building than the front door.

[5] A sudden idea strikes up through your mind - you could jump over the wall, climb up guard tower and jump over to the building's roof. It's possible that there's some way inside from there. You also have a feeling that the path to tower is placed in camera's blind spot - you could get inside unseen.

Cursing loudly at my bleeding arm, get running again, first aid kit or no. Shoot that thing in the head if I can, too!

Mutant is slowly coming in your direction. Ear ringing and blurry vision make you rage. Everything around you starts to spin around. That's enough!

[Shooting roll: 4 - 2]

You take your M1911 and try to aim at the monster, cursing loudly at your bleeding arm, but you just can't aim in this state. You shot twice, hitting trees both times. You notice a mockingly grimace on mutant's face.

[Shooting roll: 5 - 2]

You shoot again, this time lightly injuring the monster in it's arm. This only enraged it. Mutant gestures it's hand, your vision becomes red and even more blurry, ear ringing got even stronger and you have a strong headache. Controller is preparing to launch a psionic attack at you.

[Controller roll: 1]

You feel like your brain is going to boil and shoot out of your skull in brainsplosion, but suddenly it all stops. No headache, ear ringing or bluriness. The controller looks around surprised. Then it realises that it have wandered inside an anomaly! Terrified, he tries to run away, but it is too late! Mutant got sucked inside an invisible sphere, where unimaginable pressure crushes it limb by limb and shoots it's innards in every direction!

A new anomaly has been discovered!

You wake up from a horrible nightmare of burning house and dying parents. Such frightening dreams rarely, if ever show up, reminding you of orphanage and wrestling federation. You thought that it was just a bad dream and check your body - it's covered with many scars. There's no time for this now, something called you to the Zone and you had to know what. That's why you took a bus to CHP "Dityatki" - the main entrance to exclusion zone from Ukrainian side.

[5] You check your belongings - an ideally fitting trench coat, a gas mask with a small supply of filters, brass knuckles and 3 days food rations. The bus stops and you go out of the bus. A soldier cames closer and asks you about some kind of a pass that you're supposed to have when you want to enter the zone.

[5] You check your pocket for a pass that a seargant in Ukrainian special forces gave you. Soldier checks if it's authentic and gives it back to you - now you're free to enter the Zone and go out of it, as long as you operate along military rules. This means that you'll have to make soldiers a favor from time to time, in exchange for safe spot in outposts. The soldier tells you to wait and then gives you a communicator and tells that you are free now.

Now that it really is safe, I got to tend to that bullet in my arm. If I leave it any longer, I will bleed out and be dead a different way.

Turn 4 - Everyone except Lorence

- Oi! - you let out a short screech and turn around to see what's behind.

[1] You can't see anyone in the vestibule nor in the rooms. Nothing in darker corners, nothing outisde and nothing inside. Just eerie silence.

[Irradiated ghoul roll: 5]

Suddenly you hear something move in the attic, before you can do anything it rips planks out of the ceiling and jumps down throwing you on the ground. This mutant is the most frightening thing you ever saw - it is, or rather was a human. It has dark gray rotten skin, empty, smeared with dried blood eye sockets and elongated limbs. It's hands have long, razor-sharp claws. Ghoul shrieks menacingly and charges at you.

[4] Still lying on the ground, you roll out of it's way and stand up as quickly as you can.

[2] You try to find more rocks, so you could use them to find a safe way to the lake, but you can't see any.

[3] With a bit of luck you manage to find a few small pebbles and head towards the lake, throwing them around to check if the way is safe.

[Anomaly roll: 6]

Throwing one of pebbles you manage to find a huge anomaly... just two steps in front of you! This one seems strange - everything in it's radius is covered with corrosive substance, as the rock melts down landing on the ground.

[1] There are no visible artifacts within the anomaly.

Wander around in search of some fellow S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s and pick up some good throwing rocks while I do.

[1] You wander a while around fragments of fields, hills, valleys and forests, searching for any companions. You can't find anyone, probably because almost no one wants to visit such radioactive wastelands as The Zone. On the way you also looked for some good throwing rocks, but you couldn't find any suitable - the rocks were either too small or too heavy.

[4] You jump over the fence, directly into camera's blind spot and sneakily climb up guards tower.

[4] Just before going further you had another gut feeling and decided to search the guard tower. There was a small ammunition box, you open it and find an AKM rifle with six magazines (180 rounds)!

[6] You take weapon and ammo, and then climb to the top of tower and jump over to the roof. There you can see a small hatch, you open it and jump down, landing just behind a patrolling soldier!

[3] You take your first aid kit and check if you have all equipment needed to tend to that bullet - you lacked only pincers for taking out objects from open wounds. But before you do anything, you think how you'd do it - with small pincers you could take out a bullet while closing the wound using bandages. Then some cleaning and stiching.

[5] The plan sounded good, but it could be hard without pincers. You stick your fingers inside the wound, shaking and cursing in pain. Your eyes are in tears. You grab the bullet and prepare bandages, and then pry it out of your wound. It hurts much worse than when you've got shot, but you know that you'd die if it stayed inside. Blood pours out, you try to block it with bandages.

You lose 1 HP

Then you clean out the wound and prepare stitches. After a while of patching up it's closed, but you still have to find a place where you can recover.

- Da svedanya! - you say to the soldiers and go to join with others.

You join up with a row of marching soldiers saying - Hm. This is gonna be fuuuuuuuuuuuuun. A soldier marching on your right in a second row gives you a stern glare. You try to enter barracks, but you are stopped. They say that it's a barrack for soldiers, not stalkers.

Luckily something or someone that have fallen down to the cellar is not fighting to go out of there. Maybe it's unconscious, or found another way out to get you?

[3] You thought that it would be a good idea to look for some more supplies. Searching around the village and inside some of the buildings you managed to find some old cans with meat...

[6] And according to what you can still see on the metal, it's edible for one more year! These should be enough for at least four days. Excited with what you've found, you haven't paid attention to your surroundings. Suddenly you hear someone walking slowly in your direction. It is breathing heavily, just like the monster from the cellar.
