So here's a question:

Nigel Farage! You've just succeeded at the raison d'être for your party's existence! What are you going to do now?

(And guessing the answer is NOT 'I'm going to EuroDisney')

Seriously though....what does the UKIP do now? Join the Leave Tories, while the Remainder Tories struggle with their identity? Find another issue where they can be more right-wing than the Conservatives, but without going full BNP? Spend the rest of their days running up Farage's bar tab?

Incidentally, I find it more than a bit ironic that the two biggest anti-Euro voices are a guy with a French surname, and a guy with a Russian first name.

Seriously though....what does the UKIP do now? Join the Leave Tories, while the Remainder Tories struggle with their identity? Find another issue where they can be more right-wing than the Conservatives, but without going full BNP? Spend the rest of their days running up Farage's bar tab?

It is still plausible that a pro-EU mp can become the PM and be in charge of the exit negotiations until article 50 is invoked, at which point aforementioned PM could get a terrible shite horrendous negotiation deal that in their good conscience would warrant a second referendum on whether to accept or deny it. After a few years, perhaps even keeping the result in parliament without referendum, either way they'd pick the option most likely to ensure voters are unable to pick the wrong choice - thus resulting in the UK not leaving the EU at all. This would all be legal, thus it must be guarded against, the EU has a tendency of finding ways to make people do referendums over and over until they pick the right choice. With the stakes this high where the Commission fears a successful Brexit resulting in total collapse of the EU, I'm not convinced they're not going to try

UKIP would be ideologically opposed to any break up of the UK. They would fight tooth and nail to not let Scotland go and to keep it out of the EU. They would fight to keep NI away from RoI. They would fight against London getting devolved status. They would fight against Wales, Cornwall, or any other part of the UK being anything other than part of good old Blighty.

This will be their job in the short to medium term future.
