How does combat work in pbp? Considering all the dice rolls and stuff, it seems any battle will quickly bog down into a week-long affair...

Essentially the same, but, yes, a while longer than with Roll20.

Essentially the same, but, yes, a while longer than with Roll20.

Can take hours with Roll20, might take weeks in PbP, to be more specific. PbP D&D tends to be a bit of an arse in that respect, given the map-intensive, time-consuming combat.

EDIT: okay, two questions about a warlock build:

First of all, is Eldritch Glaive permitted? I figure I should ask, though I don't exactly see why it wouldn't be.

Second, are Eldritch Claws okay? They're a bit more dubious, but it seems like I could have some good fun with those.

Well, if you've got the materials ready and all you need is players, then it seems like an eminently doable thing. I'd certainly be chuffed to play it.

All else fails, could just straight-up ask people you know if they'd like to play.

The last time I played I was in the US, so I didn't have any troubles with timezones ;-;

On the preparation front, I'm also not entirely sure whether I am well-prepared for the session, but I'm trying!

Oh, I think I'm still missing a feat. Humans did get 5 in this system, right?

Yeah, you should have a bonus feat at the beginning.
My marshal aura also means you get +3 on will saves and +1 on attack rolls if you're within 60 ft of me.

Wondering if I want Skill Focus (UMD) or Improved Initiative more. Can't really think of anything else that'd be useful.

Improved Initiative, I'd say.
Gotta get that Init.

Yeah, +4 is pretty good, all things considered, considering it legitimately triples my bonus.

On the other hand, if I can break 10 on UMD with skill focus, then taking 10 gets me an automatic 20! Which is also pretty cool.
